fair enough there, league isn't that exciting to bring people from anymore, But i still consider teemo a 2 due to the idea of you can't kill what you can't catch. the biggest advantage from what i remember, is not the damage, but the speed, and continuous hit and run strategies that would occur. Sure, it's a hard thing to judge, but the admittedly little snot in a 1v1, does have decent advantages, and will completely wreck beings that are 1. slower than him and 2. can't fight the scout in a disadvantaged ranged combat. If both of those facts are true, slow and range combat worse than teemo's, Teemo wins 100% of the time, because of just getting wrecked due to superior mobility and repeatedly ambushed/attritioned down.

I'd put teemo to beat some of the 2's without any problem, and has decent advantages against very limited numbers of 3's as well, because of can't hit what you can't reach. Teemo is known for being a fast annoying bugger, and can potentially win trades against low quality gunners as well due to blinding.

That's slightly better, but I'd slap on the Welcome ability "may preselect one Lucky Rosterable enemy merc" because I wouldn't see much reason not to just burn this in low on a merc I don't want to deal with in mid or high, to set up an advantage in a second/third match of a set. Because I'd easily be willing to pay 3 gp a week to have the easiest pre-removal ever set up on future fights, putting the most agressive deterrent out there, just because you fought them, and very few abilities can actually block sidetopics.

Maybe have it that you can exp buy off the Rosterable tag for a decent sum of xp. (25-30)

As stated, you can steal beyond 0 gp, so Lopen wins bid.

As long as there's a valid ruling on that Lopen, I'll agree with it. And i considered it this way for location

Lopen = attacker status vs both
Kanz = defender vs lopen attacker vs tom
Tom = defender vs both.

So there'd be situations where it'd be stupid like 3/1+3/0+3 but that didn't happen (if it did i'd probably give it to the last defender due to the attacker status losing to first defender 3<4 (attackers only win ties, but would lose against what's there), then the first defender acting as second attacker losing to second defender 1<3, even if the second defender didn't have enough to beat the first attacker

Hmm, we got a potential ruling issue I got to bring up here before rosters.

Can you steal GP that doesn't exist? My gut feeling is no. Because as is, when wartime began we only had 2 gp between all 3 of you for bets on rosters, which lopen stole from kanz.

As such...
Lopen - Bass.EXE, Kirby, Rikku, Bass.EXE Jr
2 GP on Sanubia Desert

Kanz - Morrigan, Kefka, Dezel.
0+3/0 gp on Kefka's tower.

Tom - Zero, Terra
0+3 GP on Illegal Terrain Chosen

So as is, it would be Kefka's tower.

I hated the mechanics of ff8 badly, that i couldn't really make myself get anywhere in it. Junction and every summon trying to be Knights of the Round can go die. I also disliked mister "Whatever" as a protagonist.

I am of the firm belief that ff8 had two good things come from it. The music and Triple Triad.

I just had a random stupid thought, after reading the favorites/least favorites of final fantasy. It does require some rules additions.

Secret ability - This ability is not shown used until both sides have assigned rosters

Godbert Manderville (FF14)
Support

Start of Battle - Do the Manderville (Secret)- Every week, you can privately announce this to the admin, the attached merc can do the manderville, being forced onto the roster this week, and starts in the center of the map doing the manderville for 30 seconds, all start of battle effects are delayed on target merc until after the performance is done. (they will take full hits from any effect that occurs

Trigger - As only a Manderville can - If the manderville is done, post rosters, roll a % chance of activation, the % chance equal to combined upkeep of all rostered mercs + all gp used in paydowns. If the trigger activates, Godbert targets an enemy merc after all other SOB, ignoring untargetable, immunity and prioritizing mercs that were paid down, then used abilities.. The merc begins the battle suplexed halfway into the ground, with all buffs removed, and customizations broken for the fight. This then goes on a 4-5 week cooldown.

Upgrade -

Goldsmithing - Peacetime - If the attatched merc's tier is the current week, you may force him to not be rostered, and ply a trade. All mercs effected by this ability do not charge upkeep this week, and generate gp equal to a die roll from 1 to their combined upkeep + Godbert's upkeep.

(note, this can only be used in the proper week, if attached to 1-3 upkeep, low, 4-5 mid, 6-7 high)

Location - The Gold Saucer as seen in ff14. All employees and customers have been removed, as per regulations, the shops have been locked down to prevent looting.

Well two things.

2. Pretty sure this part at least doesn't actually work. Feel like you can't slave crown to force a passive.

Now granted Tom having stuff to do would make it more competitive but with Tira and Kefka off the board Kanz's team can't really screw me that much.


I'm certain #2 does work, but that's only because he uses crown on bass, and since you have bass upgraded with Life Aura now applies to enemy abilities of ALL timing rather than Start of Battle, life aura would negate the crown, but disable.

But eh, let's see what is remaining.

fair enough kanz, i was just pointing out that both yours and lopen's teams in a one shot fight, really have an easy way to wipe the field without any problems on having first ability use.

no, i think it would have been just as offensive if kanz got first action, because your teams are built in a way for complete ability abuse.

I mean, i can even pilot what would happen if Kanz was the first person to play.
Force taken+2, prep for injury next week
Custom combos
Meat Hook 2 targets (probably wrex and rikku)
Discord parade on kefka and Morrigan
Kefka tells rikku to mix kirby and tira, then has kirby taken geese, and removes bass.exe's life aura with his second crown.
Morrigan tells off zero and Lloyd
And finally Tira uses double taken (at upkeep 5) on bass.exe and terra.

I believe i got the ability list correct, but that's how silly this fight could have gotten.

I have a curious question for all of you, if wartime was stripped to mandatory abilities+1 non lethal(any abilities that cause removal after effect like bbmm will have that clause removed so they can be mediocre the entire fight, yay!) on each side, and we just threw out the roster sizes (you get what you paid down), do you think each of you could come up with a valid argument for victory? Because for all the abusive abilities and party nukes, what I want is a great argument and the like, and although lopen's team at raw peacetime to wartime looks slightly more powerful with arrogant kirby (what else would you call donte?) i'm certain there's other things that can be done, and each side has their ups and downs on the team.

A preselected ally or random opposing mercenary will come into battle wielding a Soul Edge of a form appropriate for their weaponry (gauntlets if they're unarmed). Their life force will slowly drain over time but their melee attacks will absorb the health of her foes. (Start of Battle)

That's what the rng rolled, back to your regularly scheduled insanity.

Since everyone seems to be in agreement, barring anyone yelling violently.

Low Tier :
Lopen - 18 GP Considered attacker
Kanz - 22 GP Considered third attacker, first defender
Tom - 14 GP Considered defender

If anyone feels something seems wrong, this would be the time to talk about it, otherwise, it'd be time to yell about abusive and broken ability combos in peace and wartime.

i was just the person taking numbers, not the one making the rules, but my opinion on refunds, would be refund for kanz and lopen on part 1 (tier bid) part 2 since bids had effects in both positions 1 and 2, only the third position should get refunded (all 0 of it :p) if refunds are done. but i'm more of a scribe, not the judge, that's for communication between you three.

Ok bids are all in.
Lopen gets to choose position first with a 7 bid,
Kanzaris gets to choose his position after lopen with a 3 bid,
And Tom gets whatever position is left with bidding 0.

So barring anything else (like me actually not knowing how things work), I think everything else is just recorded in here from now on, in choosing actual position and ability shenanigans, etc.

I can't disagree with DeathChicken. The amount of boosts given to the team really outpower the opposing team, which only really has the chance of first strike going for it. Shirou makes an absurdly good tank and backup attacker for Yu, who really won on the superpower lottery upgrade, able to absorb some of the worst magic, chill the opposing targets, a few silences, and most importantly, yank them into melee, where Shirou actually gets to do things (since he was only worst on the field since he couldn't get into melee, and would have to rely on silly suicide magic tactics rather than the martial skills of people better than him).

I'm certain it'd be a close fight, but the durability boosts really makes this fight a grinder, which I feel team Boss has the advantage.

Actually alany, mechanically if the bullets dealt 10 damage each, the shield would do absolutely nothing, since it's below it's threshold to activate. from what it reads on the scwiki for covert ops, it reduces damage to 10, not by 10.

I wouldn't call a dashing slash, and an area slashing spree defensive/mobility teleportation by any means. I'd also be worried if she considers those the best choice of actions, since that is just relying on being in melee for everything, and even with cloaking, without having energy Nova is possibly the squishiest person healthwise out of the six people here, and I could easily consider both abilities potentially cancelable via Yu's Death Knight abilities.

Hey Kanzaris, Nova does not have teleportation abilities per writeup, that comes from the Phase Reactor suit, not the Tactical stealth suit.
