I'm available at pretty much any time when I'm awake, usually between about 2:30 pm and 4 am CST (except tuesdays/thursdays, when I'll be busy with class from 4 to 7 pm)

SA2 is the only Sonic game I've put significant time into, and it was when I was a kid so I sucked at the main story and mostly did the chao garden stuff
It was fun at the time and part of me wants to try to revisit it someday but I know it prob wouldn't hold up today, oh well

no time to put together noms atm (going to sleep, expect them later today if this is still open), but a quick nitpick on the 2017 list: Kami-iro Awase is from Danganronpa 3, which is very much not the same as the game Danganronpa V3 >_>

edit: looking at the list again another song from the same show is labeled correctly, so blame the nominator of the aforementioned song for mislabeling it I guess?

Botanicula

Another one from the Amanita Bundle, overall easier than Machinarium but just as charming. I ended up with 115/123 of the creature cards, which was just enough to unlock all the bonus scenes at the end!

The X Pass words are all related to the character they correspond to in some way, and IIRC which of the possible words is used in a given fragment is tied to how that character died in that timeline. I can try to find a list of them after you finish the whole game if you care

33. Beat a game with a robot/artificial lead

Machinarium

A classic point-and-click adventure with some truly outstanding atmosphere, picked up as part of a bundle with some other games by the same developer in the recent Steam sale. I'll admit I had to look up hints for some of the puzzles, but it was still a neat experience! (Another benefit to getting the bundle: the soundtrack and artbook included are excellent, too.)

fun fact, whether the gun in Fire shoots a live round or a blank really is a 50/50 chance each time you play the fragment!

the coin at the beginning is too, except for the very first time you play it which is always a winning guess

I think there might be one or more other instances of random chance in the game that work as advertised, but I don't remember exactly where they are (and I'm not gonna mention them before you get to them yourself anyway)

I actually spent a few minutes looking for the .mod files to dick around with, but was unsuccessful.

The Realmz soundtrack is composed of various old .mods that the creators of the game found and took without credit; there seems to be download links for most of them here, though idk if they still work:

I generally don't remember my dreams long-term, but I found a couple from earlier this year that I wrote about at the time from looking through chat backlog

I dreamt that I bought a mystery novel from a Gamestop for $5 (it had a whole rack or two of cheap books for sale in addition to games)
I read part of it, bought the book, then left to do other dream stuff while carrying the book around with me, and was going to go back to buy more of the series (which had like 15 or 16 books total) if I liked it, but didn't get around to it before I woke up
I don't really remember it clearly but it was like... one of those where a chill old lady solves mysteries but instead it had two proper young ladies as the protags? but was still pretty chill?
I also saw summaries of the other books and they got pretty wacky/off-genre because dream logic, all I can remember is one of them was compared to higurashi and another was called The Garden Zombie, idk if there were actually any zombies in it though
and the protags became a couple later in the series b/c of course they did
needless to say I was disappointed this was not a real book series when I woke up

oh and I had a dream that seems like an interesting story premise, give me a min to see if I can write it up

so it started out like the typical video game/anime plot, ordinary highschooler suddenly gets special powers to fight off the bad guys (in this case some sort of alien plants that can influence people's minds, I don't remember the details)
but the twist is, a parallel sequence of events to this happened once before, ~170 years ago
(the modern-day protag finds this out by finding and piecing together fragments of last time's protagonist's diary, as well as eventually meeting the ghost of said protag)
the first time around presumably ended less than ideally, since the villains are still around and past!protag died fighting them, though he at least did well enough that they couldn't take over the world or w/e then
also modern!protag awakened to their powers later in the timeline of events than past!protag did, so some of the earlygame events have already ended poorly due to lack of a hero to intervene
but hey, with the extra foreknowledge maybe this time will have a happier ending? and having an older set of heroes should help too, past!protag was like... 8
