I've actually had a much longer and deeper crush on a good friend of mine (who, hilariously enough is actually seven years older than me), who I finally told my feelings to yesterday. The age difference is irrelevant as long as you are both consenting adults. My wife is ten years younger than I am.

So no, the age isn't an issue. I would wait until she is 18 to propose engaging into a relationship to avoid troubles though.
