You can't say it on TV in the UK. I've heard it said on American TV

Thats not true. You can say it on U.K. tv.

Its used in the U.K. loads, but rarely in the same context as America. Its more of a generic insult, rather than meaning a body part.

of a combination of Cameron's ineptitude

lolwut.

"Ok I'll let you have a vote." is ineptitude?

No. But allowing the vote while having an extremely arrogant attitude about winning is. He only let the vote go ahead as he assumed leave would win. He also ran an extremely poor campaign and did nothing to combat the flat out lies of the Brexit campaign.

It was a massive own goal that should never have happened, but did directly as a consequence of Camerons actions (or lack of)

I dont understand why anyone who works would be against full paid leave and sick pay

Because liberals are for it.

So generally, in America the political parties are so against each other they would rather screw over the average american than support the opposite parties policies?

Its utterly mental when you think about it. In the UK the two lead parties don't get on, but they at least try not to screw over the public due to their rivalry.

Its the same here in the UK, the partner can take the maternity leave instead, it doesn't have to be the woman that gave birth, its just not that common.

Wait. Genuine question, don't you already get paid leave each year in america? What about sick pay?

Sorry for my ignorance, I dont frequent CE that much, but this topic caught my eye.

There is mandated federal maternity leave, but it's not paid. Any paid leave or sick pay is up to your employer. There's no federal obligation for either to be provided.

I find that crazy! But fair enough if its always been like that. What about statutory sick pay? Like if you are off sick for say 4 weeks with a broken leg and unable to work, do any benefits/welfare systems support you until you go back to work?

The been illegal to drink at 16 doesnt make sense, since they werent on a licensed premises.

In the U.K. its legal for anyone 5 or older to drink alcohol at home (yes you read that right). Infact its legal for a 16 or 17 year old to drink in licensed premises if its bought with a meal.

Its more likely they were drunk on the night, and in the morning simply all panicked and didnt know what to do.

Britain first are basically a much hated racist group in the U.K.

Nobody takes them seriously and they constantly share and post stuff that is inflammatory and often isnt true or totally out of context

A lot of their members believe in white supremacy.

Its no different to trump retweeting the KKK or the Westboro Baptist church.

Shocking.

I don't understand why Americans seem so certain gun control won't work, when it has worked in many other countries.

In England dunblaine happened in 1996. So gun control was introduced and most ownership banned. Since then there has been one single mass shooting since and it was done by a guy who legally owned the guns.

If the argument "criminals who do this thing will always find a way" was true, wouldn't there be more mass shootings in other countries?

I'm not here to argue the case one way or the other, I just find people's outright dismissal of it and not even the willingness to consider pros and cons, outright bizzare.
