Personally I think that money can contribute to happiness, but to imply it is a r=1.0 correlation is a gross oversimplification of things.

rexcrk posted...
It does.

Im constantly worrying that something will happen that will cost a fortune in medical bills.

School is expensive as hell.

Buying and making a home is expensive as hell.

Cars and car maintenance and gas are expensive as hell.

If I had money to cover ALL of that, I wouldnt worry, and if I wasnt worrying, Id be very happy.

Honestly I cant believe there are people out there who think money CANT bring happiness.
So if you found out you had terminal cancer, your mother got raped, your best friend killed your father, and the love of your life just committed suicide your saying as long as you had money you'd be happy? If you answer no then you're contradicting yourself. If money=happiness, and if I wasnt worrying doesn't matter because all other factors other than whether you have money are irrelevant to happiness. If anything you seem to be arguing more that lack of money causes unhappiness, which isn't really the same thing.

A lot of people seem to be mistaking the question as whether money correlates with happiness, but as it is currently worded that is not what the question is asking.

Yes and no. They're currently classified under the Echimyidae family, which contains Neotropical spiny rats and their fossil relatives. So they are a type of spiny rat. Furthermore their genus name, Muridae, translates into 'beaver rat' and they have been referred to as river rats and swamp rats . However, what people typically associate as rats are from the family Muridae and coypu aren't closely related to them.

The guac looks potentially decent (tbh you should of put the guac on the burger instead of the ketchup), and that brand of vanilla yogurt is eh.

I haven't upgraded Firefox ever since that cluster fuck was released. I fear I'm going to be vulnerable to malware, but I don't want my user interface fucked with or my add-ons to become unusable. Why does every damn tech company insist on forcing awful changes on their users instead of just providing security updates?

If there's a way to change the interface to match what I have now AND I can verify that all my current add-ons have been fixed for Quantum, I'd update.
If you don't want to update to Quantum you should consider looking into migrating to Waterfox or Basilisk so you have a browser that's getting security updates. You can potentially fix some of the interface by fiddling with CSS: https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx
For addons, Firefox added a legacy tag (on v55+ I think?) to extensions that don't work on v57+. If they have a legacy tag and you need them you're stuck.

AllstarSniper32 posted...
Well that's...kinda disappointing. I thought it was a different Firefox browser and not just an update. But I will say it works a lot better than both Firefox and Chrome. Well, I guess I should say Waterfox instead of Firefox since that's what I was using before now.
Firefox is replacing the whole underlying system that the browser runs on. While it's not officially a different browser, it's far more than just a normal update.

EightySeven posted...
The important changes were awful. FF had bad memory leak, hanging and crashing issues and now it's a fuck of a lot more reliable. It changed the UI a bit, yes, but you'll get used to that in 10 minutes and the good add-ons either already have updated for compatibility or will soon. Everyone always complains when new things come out no matter how good they are.
Personally I never had the reliability issues that some people complained about. Good is subjective, and there are certain add-ons that I rely on that Mozilla refuses to add the necessary support for them to work as web-extensions, so I switched to something I could actually use. To each their own.

Your libraries argument is flawed in multiple ways. First off, the distribution isn't equivalent. As soon as someone leaks a release online, everyone can get it. Libraries only serve a limited area and typically there are restrictions for people using a library that don't live in the area it serves, so already libraries are paying for multiple copies of the work vs the one leak online. And various systems that libraries use for e-rentals put restrictions on the concurrent amount of rentals for a single work. Secondly there is no guarantee an online leak came from a legitimate purchase in the first place. Thirdly publishers charge different rates to libraries than to the public.

helIy posted...

If you're going to pirate something you're going to pirate something. But stop pretending you're in the morally or legally right, and if you're going to (mis)use libraries as a justification for pirating stuff, at least be consistent about it.

Digiorno and Red Baron are crap tbh, but if I went for a frozen pizza I actually like it'd not only beat Little Caesars but pretty much every major pizza chain out there. I'm not sure whether that says more for the quality of the frozen pizza or the lack of quality of the pizza chains.

It says neither. Chain pizza is objectively better, but it's kinda' like movies. A mediocre movie is objectively better than a bad movie, but some bad movies are so bad as to be entertaining, making them more enjoyable than the mediocre movie. I'd guess there's a similar thing at play here.
No.

While I don't think much of most frozen pizza, I've had frozen pizza that is genuinely good, and the only thing that beats it is local places that specifically make high quality artisan pizza. The problem here, is this is a subjective statement. Which brings us to the problem of your assertion.

Better is ambiguous and meaningless without context. And with context it'd likely amount to being a subjective statement. How do you define better objectively? Price? There's frozen pizza that's cheaper. Focuses on specific dietary restrictions (gluten/dairy free)? Frozen has it where I can't think of any major chain that tries. The quality of the ingredients? You have to be careful here as this is more of a subjective statement without some major clarifications on what defines quality, but I've seen frozen that uses fresh mozzarella and other premium ingredients where as most chains I can think of don't really offer such.

If you want to try to explain how chain pizza is objectively better I'd be curious. I'm not expecting much, though , and from your post I imagine part of the problem is that you've never actually had a good frozen pizza.
