Jim knowingly made out with a woman who was engaged and ditched his girlfriend in NYC to be with another woman. Pam cheated on her fiance and had no remorse about doing so. And yet, somehow, both are supposed to be the heroes of that story. Yeah, what Jim did to Karen was really messed up. The only characters I found to be unlikable were Andy in S3 (prior to his trip to anger management) and then again after they ruined his character in S9, Ryan in S4, and Nellie after she took Andy's job. --- GT: xMythic Go Gators! |

They get to cruise around all day and get to be outside a lot. It sounds like a real nice gig. They say the only tough part of the job is handling domestic disputes. That and having to put down animals. My cousin was telling me a few weeks ago that he had to put down a bear! It had suffered severe burns and needed to be put out of it's misery. --- GT: xMythic Go Gators! |

| xMythic 01/05/18 11:08:02 AM #9 | I work for my county as an Eligibility Worker. I don't have any stats to back it up but I think 90% of people who do my job are women. I've had this job for 4 years and I can count on one hand the number of phone calls I've had with other male workers from other counties, and I've had thousands of phone calls over the years. I went to a work conference a couple years ago. It was held at a real nice resort/hotel. There were about 500 workers from around the state in attendance, only around 10 were male and there were all at last 20-30 years older than me. There was a bunch of seminars during the day but in the evening there was a social hour followed by a dance. There was also an open bar. It was me, literally the only guy in the ballroom besides the bartender, along with at least 100 women. It was a good time. --- GT: xMythic Go Gators! |

| xMythic 12/30/17 1:50:23 PM #283 | I'm very sorry to hear that. I'm still dealing with losing my mom too. She passed away back in November. She was only 59. Her health went bad in the span of about 8 months. The end happened very fast. The initial shock of that one person, who you thought would always be there, being gone forever is so painful to process. I'm 32 and haven't had to rely on my mom since my early 20s. Or so I thought. I can't tell you how many times since she passed that I needed an answer or advice and immediately thought to ask my mom, only to get a punch in the gut when I realized she's not there. Worse yet is when my 2 year old son asks where his grandma is. It kills me every time. The only advice I can give is to keep busy and active. Keep up on your hobbies and interests. Work out. Knock out some books you've been meaning to read. If you got a job, go back to work when your feeling better and really get after it, no matter what it is you do. Don't shut out friends and family who want to be there for you. Whatever you do, don't get caught up thinking about what-ifs, or wishing to change the past. --- GT: xMythic Go Gators! |

I have a cousin who just graduated with an advanced nursing degree (NP I think) and is working on another degree (Forensic Nurse). In addition to school she works a full-time job at a hospital, only recently gave up a part time weekend job at a small clinic, and coaches the local high school volleyball team. She also has a 3 year old son and is very involved with her boyfriend's 4 children (he's an older guy with teenage kids including one in college) and they are in literally every sport and school activity they can possibly join. She some how finds the time for an active social life. It's insane. I think her days last 28 hours compared to us regular people. They own a lot of land around here, mostly farmland. They built their own schoolhouse and a store a couple years back. I come across their buggies rolling down the highway quite often. Their is also a Mennonite community nearby too. They don't go all out like the Amish with their simplicity, they have electricity, drive cars, and some send their kids to the local schools. --- GT: xMythic Go Gators! |
