I have a working copy (at least, I believe I do) of MGS2 and a copy of Substance that crashes when you open the first door, but the skateboarding minigame still works. Animus systems are supposed to let you relive ancestor memories, not alter them. That's why you can 100% certain memories: that's how the character did them historically. Ubisoft is rewriting their own lore to fit the settings Samurontai posted... Hell, theres hints that fucking Cain could have very well been the origins of the Templar order I'm aware, but the modern-day Assassin/Templar conflict originated from the groups formed in Origins. To go back either means that they're ignoring what happened in Origins or trying to shoehorn some lore in there.
