Don't get me wrong, i love Larry's goofy face and use it every day of my life, but Seinfeld and the punches at the end of episodes. Those require some work to start and close the season so long term I wouldn't be able to do tax work all the way until April, but this is the group I am targeting most, and this seems like it could be one the best ways to use my off time. hmm that would be a pretty big issue if you wanted to work for another firm. But idk what you mean by starting out. how much of a barrier is it for you to be able to afford year round daily campers and some month to month? Is that what you would optimally look for? It sounds like you might be unhappy with your career, but if not could you put up with a couple more years of work to bridge that financial gap? | Drpooplol 06/03/18 6:23:23 PM #2 | Yeah I know people who do that. They're all old, and don't really need to work, but take on light hours and have tons of experience. You won't make much money off the time and effort you would put into becoming a CPA. There's a lot to it: 1. Passing four CPA exams, which are generally considered some of the hardest exams to pass 2. You generally need 150 credit hours. I don't know how much schooling you've done. Some states also require a certain amount to be accounting hours. 3. The biggest obstacle to making this worth your while, in my opinion, is the experience requirement. In Washington, it looks like you need to work at least 12 months and 2000 hours under a CPA. This will push the time until you actually make enough money for your time out a while, especially if you're only working 3 months a year. Around Minneapolis, tax interns generally make $15-20/hr, closer to $15 for small firms, and they're expected to work at least 60 hour weeks.
