I can't see why a first time offender should be locked up for over a year if they show signs of reform. It doesn't help the victim, it drains taxpayers, and it makes it difficult for the punished individuals to reassimilate into society upon release. Trump won me over during his campaign and I believe he is out to improve our nation. You treat my political beliefs as though they're a bad thing. I don't go out of my way to attack others. I think that I (and other Trump backers) should get that same level of respect.
