I'd like to see the crossbreeding resulting from Republic City's existence lead to mixed-race benders who could potentially inherit both their parents' bending arts (thus furthering the new Avatar's struggles with becoming obsolete).

That's not how that works

Well, obviously that's not how it works now. But the creators are more than within their power to let things evolve in a potential 3rd series. Cross-nation breeding was virtually nonexistent before the end of the 100 Year War and is still a relatively new occurance in LoK. A theme that's touched on lightly in TLA and heavily in LoK is how a spiritual savior like the Avatar struggles to maintain relevance in a developing world. The sudden existence of cross-element benders would further this theme by making the Avatar's powers far less unique.

In Korra they use fire bending as a form of free energy to power the city.

That actually was really weird to me.
Lightning turned from something only the best of the best firebenders could use to something simple power plant workers used.

They probably got trained on how to do it and it became easier for people to master as time passed.

Like how no one but Toph even thought metal bending was possible, but then in Korra lots of people can do it.

It's also an undertone throughout LoK that the Greatest Generation has passed: the Tophs, Azulas, and King Bumis are fading from the world. Bending is becoming more commonplace, but also more dilluted / mundane. At least that was my take on it.

If they ever do an Earthbender Avatar series, I'd like to see the crossbreeding resulting from Republic City's existence lead to mixed-race benders who could potentially inherit both their parents' bending arts (thus furthering the new Avatar's struggles with becoming obsolete).

Luke 'trained for months' on Dagobah? Exactly how long do people think Han and co. spent fleeing the Empire and traveling to Bespin? Writing this amount of time off as even longer than a week is some serious reaching. The only possible wiggle-room in which to justify this is when Han says Bespin's 'pretty far,' but does anyone seriously think that trip through spaces took remotely that long?

Only real flaw was a weaker villain (which was a near-impossible bar to meet anyway), and the simple fact that mind control isn't a very good plot device unless there's serious implication of an unhappy ending for the controllees.

Beyond that, it was excellent. Incredibles is my all-time favorite movie, and I would have been happy if it simply didn't suck; I was very pleasantly surprised that the sequel largely met the bar of the original.

I realize Korra's a far more divisive character and her more abrasive personality initially puts certain people off. She's hotheaded, unwittingly selfish at times, and makes tons of mistakes. In an era where female leads are often idealized to the point of unrelatability, Korra is about as far from a Mary Sue as you can get. But I think that only serves to enhance the wealth of character growth she goes through. Not every character has to be immediately likable to be of quality; in fact, often it's the opposite case. Zuko, for instance, is almost unquestionably one of the top characters in the series. However, he's also an irritating and borderline-reprehensible character for the majority of his arc; but our brains perceive it as more acceptable because the story initially presents him as a villain.

At some points it's a tough call for me as to whether Korra or Zuko deserves the top honor, but Korra takes the win for me. My personal top ten would be (in order) Korra, Zuko, Iroh, Sokka, Katara, Azula, Toph, Aang, Tenzin, and I suppose Lin or maybe even Varrick. If I had more time I'd be happy to write out an explanation for each character, but putting that much work in kinda loses its luster when this board doesn't archive.

I liked Legend of Korra well enough, and seasons 3 and 4 are easily the best parts, but I felt like the show had a weaker main cast than The Last Airbender.

I mean, I never liked any of the characters as much as I liked Azula and the Aang Gang.

I think this is pretty inarguable, even for a diehard LoK lover like myself. It's one of the many ways LoK is Yang to TLA's Yin: TLA has a more well-rounded main cast, while LoK hinges much more narrowly on its titular protagonist's brawny shoulders.

As it turns out, if I was to rank the characters across both series, Korra would be at the top, but the only other LoK character to crack the top ten might be Tenzen or Lin, depending on my mood. On the other hand, I'd rank Aang 7th or 8th at best.

C. And it was obviously designed that way, with Sidon's emmisaries out in the world flagging you down. No other faction had that deliberate draw. I think the devs also knew full well what they were doing here, since tge Zora questline clearly had the most time and care put into it (closely rivaled but not beaten by the Gerudo, imo); so they wanted you to experience the Zoras or at least the Gerudos first, and let that goodwill carry you through the lackluster Goron and Rito questlines.

'Korra Alone' actually helped me open my eyes towards my own long-term depression. Can't think of many shows that have touched me that deeply. And it really meant a lot that Korra had no easy fixes to her struggles, and her issues still persisted even after the viewer was led to believe they'd been healed - this is something that really bothered me with Aang in TLA. Finally, (season ending spoilers) I thought it was really important how Korra spared this universe's Hitler-equivalent: not simply because 'it was the right thing to do,' but because Korra actually empathized with her and understood the emotions that could drive Kuvira to such terrible ends.

The biggest flaw in Book 4 is Prince Wu. He's not a particularly bad character overall in and of himself, but it's a travesty that they burned up so much precious screentime on a new character when they already had a wealth of supporting characters who needed that screentime.

And yeah, the clip show's existence sucks, because Nickelodeon was treating the show like dogshit at the time. But bless the creators, they made a decent go of it: it's no 'Ember Island Players' by any stretch, but Varrick's embellished retelling and the villains' conference call was at least worth the price of admission.

If they "upgraded" Morrowind they'd probably screw it up by removing all the things that set it apart. Extremely complex alchemy, enchanting, spellmaking, tons of different pieces of armor and clothing being worn at once. The series has been dumbed down with every iteration and I'm afraid that's what would happen if it were "modernized."

IMO there's really only a handful of gameplay mechanics they'd have to change in order to modernize Morrowind, and IMO none of them would strip the game's heart and soul.

The biggest one is removing the accuracy / success rate penalties for skills. This concept is beyond archaic. Weapon accuracy is the most obvious, and whiffing constantly with weapons is bad enough. But repeatedly failing to cast a novice-level healing spell or failing to eat a damn plant is downright infuriating, and creates this bizarro leveling system wherein skills start off near-impossible to grow and get easier at higher levels. There's already a low-level penalty in effect, and that's damage / efficacy, which is more than enough.

Upgrading running to a sprint function and removing the stamina drain from regular running is another necessity. Morrowind is far too outdated in terms of open-world exploration, which forces you to walk at a snail's pace in order to conserve enough stamina for fights.

And while it's a smaller issue, they'd also be wise to remove attribute damage. Temporary drain attribute spells / effects give you an in-combat challenge, and permanent attribute damage already exists in the form of diseases. Non-disease attribute damage is redundant, and fall more irritating than challenging.

Not to be cynical, but I don't see Gamora staying dead. It seems to me that GotG draws in a lot of people who otherwise don't care about the MCU and comic book movies in general. Having one of the main characters permanently iced 'offscreen' in a movie that's not mainline to the GotG arm of the franchise would not sit well with a lot of those fans.

I honestly think there's a good chance that all six OG Avengers sacrifice themselves to undo the snap. At the very least, I predict there'll be enough permanent character death in IW2 to placate even the harshest critics of the inevitable snap-reversal.
