It's negligible, but it's there. Also, the stats of the base class(Bare/Freelancer) improve based upon how many and which classes a character has mastered, and certain abilities "carry" stats. people over exaggerate how important those stat differences are though they are all like "you made lenna a warrior? dont you know she does 2 HP less damage than bartz clearly she is trash as a warrior" --- yusketeer |

A dark knight? (I haven't played this yet, so I don't know for myself). thats not correct at all ff2 has no fixed class system you and IIRC guy is the only one that starts with magic you get stronger by using things if you attack a lot you will be good at attacking if you use magic a lot you will get better at using magic if you get hit a lot you will have high HP its a weird system but one that lets you customize each character anyway you want also maria starts off geared towards being an archer than a mage (you get better with each weapon individually ) --- yusketeer |

| yusiko 07/20/18 2:50:47 PM #1 | ok so there is a point where you have just squall and rinoa in your party and she is in her white dress if you save the magic lamp for this point you can fight diablos with just the 2 of them (personally i always fight diablos on disk 1 when rinoa is on her own so it feels like she accomplished something) anyway the developers were to lazy to give her a white dress battle model so she just switches to her default clothes i dont like that --- yusketeer |

| yusiko 07/19/18 4:02:54 PM #1 | i mean whats not to like? great plotline. terrific development her story of a little girl forced to grow up and become strong to fast (literally thanks to the realm of summon spirits aging her to adult hood) is really endearing she has some of the best moments in the game and is the emotional center of the party. also her she is a complete badass who is your biggest damage dealer in your party and her reintroduction when she rejoins you as an adult is literally her showing up, one shoting a major villains own summon and saving the lives of the party and turning a fight they didnt have a hope of winning around to their favor showing that without her the party is exceptionally weaker than with her both gameplay wise and story wise --- yusketeer |
