I actually live in one of the areas mentioned in that report but things have gotten much better due to smart police operations combined with job hunting efforts by the local politicians. The problem here were drugs and unemployment (a majority of the population in the area is not even immigrants and much less Muslims). The original report did not talk about no-go zones even. Sweden has been too generous on immigration between 2007-2015 and there are issues related to that, but things are not as grim as many false stories tell. Our military has confirmed that Russian operatives and US Far-Righters fabricate and spread fake news about Sweden. Russia does disinformation campaigns all across the West to strengthen their own position while the US Far-Right wanna spread their White Genocide agenda. Two great examples: The real story: Native Swedish drug addicts broke into a church and pooped in the pews. The fake story spread abroad: Muslim refugees offered shelter in the church thank the priest by desecrating the church with poop. The real story: A private citizen in a small town hang up so many Christmas decorations on a public street light that it begins to tip over. So the local police remove the decorations before the lamp falls down. The national debt was around 36% of our GDP in 2014 and now it has shrunk to cirka 22%. The Government has also gone from a deficit to a substantial surplus despite the big payments on the national debt. One newspaper did a survey and a majority of the respondents, regardless of political affiliation, did not know about the economys great shape.
