Right now they have it as "All" (random selection from all courts), "custom" (random selection from your own preferences), or "Stadium" (random selection from just no frills stadium courts). If you press + you can deselect all the courts you don't want in these random selections. So basically you just deselect all except the one you want. Why not just let you pick the one you want in a straight forward manner, with a random button on the side? Mind you this doesn't apply to the online tournaments (only stadium courts), or the online free play (random courts, no customization) but still, the settings menu needs more time in the oven. --- |

It's very disappointing and such a pitiful oversight, I'm not sure how/why they did this. You can only play between "Quick Play" and "Extended Play". Quick Play is a tie-breaker, first to 7, win by 2, usual rules. Extended Play is 2 games, 1 set, gotta win by 2. Basically the demo. Amusingly the CPU tournaments have even longer matches. The Star Cup has Round 2 be 2 games, best of 3 sets, while the final is 2 games, best of 5 sets. But just against the CPU. There's no option to extend the match length beyond 2 games, 1 set, which is bad. --- |

The game has fantastic design and hopefully Nintendo/Camelot stick with it for months to come. With a few more modifications (fleshing out match settings in particular) I'm all in for a while. The first online tournament starts July 1st, and if you enter you unlock Koopa Troopa as a playable character. If you don't enter you'll get him for free on August 1st. Same thing with Blooper in the August tournament (and likely Diddy/Birdo/Paratroopa thereafter). Hyyyype! Love me some tennis. Wimbledon is only a week and a half away, too! --- |

I actually got crushed twice before really pulling out all the stops. That said it was really satisfying to win and I felt like I had a much better understanding of the systems employed. I'm about 50% through my demo time and am working toward H'aanit now. --- |

It gives you a reason to keep coming back instead of just unlocking everything at once. Ehhh, it's basically just extra characters that likely should be in the base game but are instead being used to keep the retention rate higher. Also it'll feed into their online service. Instead of unlocking these characters over the weekend you just have to log in and at some point give them a few bucks over the span of like 6 months to a year. It's not the worst thing but it does feel a little transparent. --- |

| Peridiam 06/18/18 10:49:41 PM #20 | Mario Tennis Aces (this Friday). So much hype. Hollow Knight just released a few days ago and I've enjoyed its metroidvania-ness. SteamWorld Dig 2 is amazing. Didn't play the first, didn't need to. Love the concept, hope there's a third. Cat Quest is a hidden treasure, although it's really short (but also cheap). Very lighthearted. Golf Story is a great little golf game with a lot of charm in its dialog. I found just playing the golf portion really satisfying (there's a looooot of extra tidbits) and I would love love love if they made a Tennis Story. I do wish they had more golf tournaments involved though. Wizard of Legend is a fun rogue-like involving numerous spells being chained together to create crazy combos. It also has carry-over from run to run. I'm not one for rogue-likes but have enjoyed it a lot. Rabbids is good, as said above. I bought the Gold Edition when it was like 50-60% off and it's totally worth it. Xenoblade 2 is good but I think I liked the first more. The only game I own that I'm probably never gonna bother more with is Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. It's rigid and kinda generic. I'm pretty sure I bought it on sale too... I just don't care enough to go further with it. And then Rocket League if you want it portable. --- |

Ill see if I can find info about it, they were real bad. The worship of Cappy was crazy, just so crazy. Historically it was the first season to have a major house divide between the awful, dislikable people and the dramatic but still fun and silly good guys. And it wasnt very grey either, it was night and day fan faves vs. everyone the fans hated. I just found it so memorable for a season of reality TV. I need to rewatch it. --- |
