Alright, so I delivered a package to a dude, then went searching for "Dreamwillow", which I'm going to assume is basically morphine. Went up a cliff to meet some herbalist dude who got robbed, then locked inside his house...this guy is a loser. I feel ripped off, I was told the area around his house had Scrappers and Sawtooths but all I saw were a couple of Watchers. Maybe I'll encounter the real enemies while I follow the tracks of the thieves. Well I did get to find a Sawtooth at least. It and some Watchers were attacking the outcasts, so I saved them. Turns out they're just trying to survive, blablabla isn't it all so nice. They gave me some morphine so I could go back to Jun the coward. He's a douchebag and Aloy called him out on it to little avail. Still don't know if these dialogue choices actually result in anything meaningfully different happening but whatever, completed the quest and everyone is happy. Or at least not dead, and that's just as good isn't it?

And then I went off to collect a Lancehorn Lens for Sona. Lancehorns, new enemy type, yay, so happy. They basically seem like more competent Grazers. I now have Tearblast arrows and have been having some fun sniping pieces off these machines. I think next up will be...another side quest, but then I think I'll probably move on to clearing out some corrupted zones so I can move on with the plot.

Brief update to say I'm still playing, mainly did some inventory stuff to make money and get some new weapons/ammo that I haven't found cause to use yet. I'm rounding up side quests right now so this might be a tad dull for a while, if you're holding out for more epic plot advancement you might need to be patient, but if random faffing about is your thing I can surely fit some PURPLEVISION references in here somewhere

For Corrik to be scum...basically he needs to actually be Scum Unexpected and have claimed it as town, then not gone after Zyx for claiming Town Unexpected because he was worried the flip would get him in trouble, needs to actually have watching power to have known for sure Zach killed Scare night 1, and probably had his team stop using its roleblocker entirely after blocking Pxl one night so that he could then claim to be blocked each night and it would look legit because Pxl would have confirmed scum had a roleblocker. Explains why they killed Pxl, who had kind of sort of given up, she was the only town power left, however weak a power it is. I don't buy it, really.

The only thing that bugs me with him is the fact that his usual claim shifting behavior gives him a good excuse to handwave any inconsistencies in his claim, like his not having actually tracked MZero at all, since he can just let it be waved off as standard Corrik weirdness. It is weird that MZero would claim to have targeted dowolf when he made his fake full claim unless he really did, since if he didn't it would make way more sense for him to have insisted he didn't and hope it made Corrik admit to lying (or convince others to think that way, at least). If Corrik is scum that could have been some sort of gambit to make him look good, but since MZero was Usurper we can safely say he wasn't intending to get lynched, so Corrik being out for blood on him doesn't fit as scum wanting to make sure Operation Lynch MZero went off. Plus his behavior fits with how he thinks his role works, and if he were scum town would maybe be a bit light on power, depending on exactly what Zyx's Unexpected role actually did.

idk I can see the scenario for him being scum, but it strikes me as really unlikely. Like you I read him as scum from early on (I think I was leaning that way before you were even in the game Ashe) but since then his behavior has made a lot of sense with what he claims his role is, the role seems to make sense (if two identically named roles were something Blade wouldn't even consider, I feel like Chris would have brought it up, he seemed confident he could figure out what Blade would or wouldn't think was fair game for a meta trap)...I've thought about it quite a bit but I always keep coming back to it seeming a lot more likely that he's town.

Now Corrik has me wondering. Did you just claim that track on MZero because you hoped people would believe you and get lucky when it turned out he really did target dowolf?

It's pretty weird that he claims the same role name as someone who died night 1, but that's probably Blade fucking around...? I feel like Chris would have brought that up unless he thought it was a plausible Blade shenanigan. Still does create a bit of paranoia...

So Shad...you must have a lot of faith in either Ashe or me, considering the two of us haven't been around at the same time yet and thus the lack of hammer on you could easily be explained away by Ashe not being online late at night and me not being online this morning.

Assuming Usurper wasn't just a flavour name, MZero probably figured he could get Leo lynched easily and his team would still win. He probably also didn't realize how bad Leo's flip would make him look. I don't think he thought it through very much, one way or the other

I think so. It did cross my mind that Shad being scum could have been why Pxl was killed over you, since she wanted to lynch him yesterday while as far as I can remember you didn't say much about him because you were focused on Dels. Shad is likely scum. That leaves Death/Ashe/you remaining, and I can pretty safely rule you out I think (unless you live through the night, in which case it might be worth revisiting). Between Death and Ashe, I think Death is more likely. It's more process of elimination from thinking Ashe feels like town than anything else though.

If you do tons of sidequests you'll get overleveled eventually, and Xenoblade's combat system is really level based. Being higher/lower level than an enemy (enough for their names to be listed as yellow/red) gives significant boosts/penalties to damage and accuracy. Eventually that can be overcome, but it can make fighting a higher level monster very frustrating (and fighting a lower level enemy becomes a joke)

Oh. Well fuck those guys anyway.

Moving on, the third camp gets wiped out silently just like the second. Well, I say silently but one guy got shot once, survived and then died to the second arrow and had it count as a stealth kill. Perhaps not the most brilliant opposition I'm up against here. Also after clearing the camp, the Nora Braves promptly attracted the attention of some Watchers. Perhaps not the most brilliant allies either!

Regardless, Varl the badass and I sneaked into the enemy's main base, and then...okay this was kind of odd, I think it would be easier if I had just sniped all the humans from the shadows and THEN blown up the gate to the others in, but they wanted me to blow it up so I did. By which I mean I got spotted and made a mad dash to blow up all the blaze canisters, then a big ol' war happened. In which I kind of got bogged down fighting a single Fire Bellowback for the entire thing. Holy shit those guys have a lot of health, takes quite a few shots to blow up their tanks too. I'm glad I didn't try to deal with one of those fuckers from stealth, can't see how I could kill one without a protracted battle.

And then we all celebrated, I collected a lot of stuff from all the dead dudes my friends took out while I was fighting the Bellowback, Varl the badass acted like he wants in Aloy's pants and everyone is happy. Except for all the people that just died, but they were a bunch of dicks anyway.

Well I went to take a stab at my epic rematch with the Glinthawks. It went, well, uh...

So I decided to take a more cautious approach (well, I tried the same "Shock Arrow to the Scrapper's explodable thingy" tactic but for whatever reason it didn't set off explosions nor give away my position completely and I got bored), used silent strikes to pick off the Scrappers and then just shot all the cultists from stealth, ultimately clearing the camp without the enemies ever being entirely sure I was there. Never even saw a Glinthawk. I don't know if they're a long ways away and just detected the fight from great distance last time or if they only spawn if the alarm is set off, but whatever it was, my epic rematch never actually happened. Never even saw them through my PURPLEVISION (yes I am determined to make PURPLEVISION a thing here).

Hooray?

I like how the Nora braves that are with you to join in the assault if you get spotted celebrate after the camp is cleared as if they won a great battle even though they literally did nothing but sit there watching me do all the work.

Alright, continuing on with my mission to destroy some cult camps...

...and that didn't go very well. So this second camp has, in addition to a million dudes and three corrupted Scrappers which would be a handful to begin with, a brand new machine called a Glinthawk. Which are brutal. They can shoot a freeze projectile that takes almost half my health that also forces me to stop trying to shoot them because your walking speed is too slow to get out of its area of effect. And it can shoot five of them in a row fast enough that even with Concentration there's barely time to get a shot in between their attacks. And they can also just fly off and do a bombing run. And generally fly around so fast that shooting them is impossible because the camera moves slower than they do. And dive bomb occasionally, which isn't even an opening to melee most often since they overshoot by a mile and stay too high up mostly. And they are supposedly weak to fire but ten fire arrows don't seem to have done anything and their weak point is tiny and also even the precision arrows barely take a noticeable piece of their health bar away.

And then another one showed up.

Taking a brief pause to think before I pick up again. I honestly am not sure how I can deal with these things alongside every other enemy, even one of these on its own seems tougher by far than any other entire enemy group has been. And I'm pretty sure I can't use traps or the tripcaster on them since they fly. Unless maybe the ropecaster can accomplish something but I can't help but feel it probably can't since that would be really cheesy. These guys feel like I just walked into an area in an RPG intended for characters much higher level, even landing a ton of shots with fire arrows and several precision arrows, some of which looked like they hit the little freeze container, didn't even bring the damn thing to half health.

Communism is not a bad thing. As long as she doesn't believe in revolutions, killing a lot of people with bloodthirsty "revenge" as the means to get there because typically that is reactionary and will not bring any sorts of positive change.

If we let Capitalism kill itself naturally, a communist society will grow from the death of it naturally as well, and we will have a much better communist society in place than otherwise. It's the only structure for a government that will allow us to live in as close to a Utopian society as possible.

lorfma

Violent revolution is pretty much built into communism. And the entire model communist society is built on is one of government oppression, since the only way for it to sort of sustain itself is to enforce draconian punishment of those who don't fall in line in exactly the way the government needs (communists like to pretend it doesn't involve government, but the whole thing is built on having some sort of centralized authority aka a government)

I kind of think so? I'd be fairly surprised if you were scum, and while I'm less confident about Ashe I still think he's town, so process of elimination points to Death and Shad by default. I suck at reading Death in general but he did strike me as scummy earlier in the game, I put it aside because my reads have been asstastic all game but I definitely don't have any reason to see him as town like I do you or Ashe. Shad is obviously really hard to make sense of since he was gone for days and thought he was being replaced but again, process of elimination.

I do worry a little that if Shad were scum, his team would have tried to contact him outside the game to get him back, meaning Death using the @ to summon him would be weird, but I can kind of see that being done to make them seem like they aren't teammates, especially if Shad was still making the occasional post on the scum board so Death would know he'd be getting a response. If I'm right they'd be worried that Chris' PoE pointed to them both so they would need to find some way of making it look weird for them to be teammates if they wanted to get anyone else lynched.

But, yeah, I get the paranoia.

It's mainly that from my perspective, I see Ashe as likely town so it probably ends up as Ashe, me, and Death/Shad anyway since you die no matter what. "Confirming" Ashe has limited value in that situation since either way it comes down to Ashe deciding while Death/Shad and I vote each other. It's nice but not really essential. And confirming you isn't really relevant unless you survive tonight, which I don't see happening unless you're scum which I also doubt is the case

I understand why you'd want to lynch a Jinjo, though if there's a non-Jinjo scum I know it must be Death since he and I are the only non-Jinjos left. If we lynch Death you get shot anyway in all likelihood so it comes down to Ashe/Shad/me. Which, granted, I feel like Ashe is town but it's not quite as solid as it would look in the hypothetical Jinjo/Death/me endgame so Jinjo probably is the way to go regardless.

I assume you were roleblocked again Corrik? Kind of surprised you'd be left alive when Pxl had outright said she didn't care much anymore, although I guess she did start trying again after that.

I feel like Death and Shad remain the likeliest scum, still feel fairly confident in Ashe and Corrik...if you really faked that whole business about thinking Dels was lying about his claim based on the Legend of Dragoon thing, I would be surprised and impressed. Don't see why scum goes that far on such a bizarre, minor point.

Shad being paralyzed is weird but I don't think it would make sense as an excuse not to talk - paralyze doesn't prevent talking, and his real life would be all the excuse he needs, plus he apparently tried to replace out so it's not like he was planning on lurking. It could still be some sort of weird scum ploy since it's really weird for scum to paralyze town Shad on night 1 of all times, but it wouldn't be a way to let him get away without saying anything I don't think
