Company executives have said its previous policies were loose and ambiguous, leaving decisions on whether people could sit in its stores or use the restroom up to store managers.

Starbucks said it has told workers to consider anyone who walks into its stores a customer, regardless of whether they make a purchase.

The company said anyone can use its cafes, patios or restrooms without buying anything, but it noted workers should still call the police if someone is a safety threat.

We are committed to creating a culture of warmth and belonging where everyone is welcome, Starbucks said in a statement.

An estimated 239,000 girls under the age of five die in India each year due to neglect linked to gender discrimination, a new study has found.

The report is the first to examine the number of avoidable deaths among girls under five in India at a district level, showing specific geographic patterns of avoidable female mortality across India's 640 districts.

The US birth rate dropped to an all-time low in 2017, according to preliminary numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Women in the US gave birth to around 3,853,472 babies last year a 2% drop from 2016. At just over 60 births per every 1,000 women (between the ages of 15 and 44), this is the lowest birth rate the country has ever recorded.

A U.S. jury found a Christian missionary from Oregon guilty Wednesday of multiple sex abuse charges for molesting children living at an unlicensed Cambodian orphanage that he operated in Phnom Penh over a period of years.

Daniel Stephen Johnson, 40, was convicted of six counts of engaging in illicit sexual conduct in a foreign place and one count each of travel with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and aggravated sexual assault with children. He faces a minimum of 30 years in prison when sentenced in August in Eugene, Oregon.

Federal public defender Craig Weinerman did not return calls or e-mail from The Associated Press seeking comment after business hours Wednesday. His co-counsel, Lisa Maxfield, declined comment.

U.S. authorities said nine Cambodian children ranging in age from 7 to 18 have disclosed Johnsons abuse or past abuse in lengthy interviews with trained child-forensic interviewers. The FBI launched an extensive investigation of Johnson and his potential victims after learning of the case in 2013, the U.S. Attorneys Office in Portland said.

The despicable nature of this defendants conduct is beyond understanding, said Billy Williams, U.S. attorney for the District of Oregon.

The fact that this defendant abused children under the guise of being a missionary and orphanage director is appalling.

Johnson first molested a child at the orphanage during a trip in 2005, according to court documents.

Local law enforcement issued a warrant for Johnsons arrest in an unrelated matter in 2013 in Lincoln County, Oregon. Johnson was located overseas and his passport as revoked based on the Oregon warrant. It wasnt immediately clear what the local case involved and a spokesman for the U.S. Attorneys Office didnt return a request for details.

The FBI then partnered with a non-profit that combats child exploitation in Cambodia and the Cambodian National Police to locate Johnson in Phnom Penh.

He was arrested in 2013 by Cambodian authorities and indicted the following year in the U.S. on one count of engaging in illicit sexual conduct in a foreign place.

Johnson was extradited to the U.S. after completing a one-year prison sentence in Cambodia as U.S. authorities sought to build their case.

Seven more charges were added in 2017.

While in custody, Johnson tried to tamper with witnesses and contact his victims online, bribing them with gifts and promises of money to change their testimony, the U.S. Attorneys Office said in a statement.

More details on the case were not immediately available and many court documents in the case are filed under seal.

Looks like Shinsadong Tiger also made "Are You Hungry?" XD Blatant plagiarism!

Are You Hungry? was the better bop, in my opinion, but it didn't receive the attention it deserved.

Shinsadong Tiger probably knew this and made a modified version of the song to give to Momoland (which became Bboom Bboom), and now that its blown up, it pretty much validates the idea that this song (both versions) deserved a lot of recognition.

Anyways, its crazy how many Kpop hits Shinsadong Tiger is responsible for. He's probably the second most important music producer after Teddy.

The problem is Japanese culture. It needs to change or the birthrates will continue to decrease.

1. Maternity harassment:

Over 50% of women drop out of the job market after having children. Some numbers have at as high as 70%. The reason is maternity harassment & sexism. Despite efforts to change it, the results are lacking. Japanese companies and Japanese men need to stop treating pregnant women like 2nd-rate citizens. Because of this, many women choose not to marry or have children, so they can stay in the workforce.

2. Anime and video games - It is really a surprise that many Japanese men can't handle real women after watching anime with submissive female characters for most of their lives? Real women are nothing like the agreeable characters in their favorite shows. Once they finish their anime, they retreat into their video games where they kill monsters to get parts to make other parts, so they can make other parts for other parts so they can make that weapon to slaughter more innocent beasts to get more parts for other parts. These men are obviously losers and unsuitable mates for women. Pillow acceptance proves that acceptance of any unhealthy behaviors can lead to societal regression.

The United States is in the midst of what some worry is a baby crisis. The number of women giving birth has been declining for years and just hit a historic low. If the trend continues and experts disagree on whether it will the country could face economic and cultural turmoil.

According to provisional 2016 population data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday, the number of births fell 1 percent from a year earlier, bringing the general fertility rate to 62.0 births per 1,000 women ages 15 to 44. The trend is being driven by a decline in birthrates for teens and 20-somethings. The birthrate for women in their 30s and 40s increased but not enough to make up for the lower numbers in their younger peers.

A country's birthrate is among the most important measures of demographic health. The number needs to be within a certain range, called the replacement level, to keep a population stable so that it neither grows nor shrinks. If too low, there's a danger that we wouldn't be able to replace the aging workforce and have enough tax revenue to keep the economy stable. Countries such as France and Japan that have low birthrates have put pro-family policies into place to try to encourage couples to have babies. The flip side can also be a problem. Birthrates that are too high can strain resources such as clean water, food, shelter and social services, problems faced by India, where the fertility rate has fallen over the past few decades but still remains high.

The debate now is about whether the United States is headed toward a national emergency, as some have feared, or whether this is a blip and the birthrate will level off soon.
