Anywho, I'm like...inches away from ordering a Model 3. The 310-mile range one with the dual motors. Tempted to get the autonomous driving packages too but that's like another $10,000. Without that stuff, the price of the car is around $60,000 for the dual-motor vehicle. Minus $7,500 once the federal tax credit kicks in.

Pretty expensive, but for the gas savings/maintenance savings over the lifetime of the vehicle it wouldn't actually be that much more expensive than a nice gas car. Plus I could be supporting one of the brands that is the imo in the top three most important brands right now.

Until it starts on fire while you're sitting in traffic....

It gets sorted somewhere, just not at the bin.

I'm pretty sure most recycled shit ends up in incinerators/landfills anyway, because it's cheaper and uses less energy. It just makes people feel good.

I am, too, which is another reason why this move by Starbucks is worse for the environment than literally not making any changes whatsoever.

Is that why my single-sort recycling collection specifically says straws are okay to recycle?

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/09/business/starbucks-plastic-straws.html

In the United States alone, an estimated more than 500 million disposable plastic straws are used every day, according to Eco-Cycle, a nonprofit recycling organization. Although plastic straws are made from polypropylene, a recyclable plastic, most recyclers wont accept them.

Plastic straws are pretty small and lightweight, so when theyre going through the mechanical sorter, theyre often lost or diverted, said Sam Athey, a plastics pollution researcher and member of the Plastic Ocean Project, a nonprofit based in Wilmington, N.C., that aims to reduce plastic use.

That means plastic straws get tossed in the garbage, ending up in landfills and polluting the ocean...

It is difficult to know how many straws or straw particles end up in the worlds waterways and oceans, but plastic straws are one of the most common items found on beaches, according to the Ocean Conservancy, whose volunteers have picked up more than 9 million straws and stirrers from beaches and waterways.

So, they literally are recyclable.

One foundation receiving millions of dollars for research does not mean another foundation was deprived of those funds and it's literally insane to even imply that. And if you were to even be consistent with your hare-brained logic, you should be pining for pancreatic cancer research as it is a fucking atrocious form of cancer with abysmal survival rates.

You're complaining about breast cancer research and attributing its foundation to feminists when epidemiologists, researchers, physicians, and organizations of highly qualified individuals much, much more versed on any of this than either you or your boogeyman feminists are the driving force behind it.

When it comes to federal funding, it literally is zero-sum.

And I do want more funding for pancreatic cancer - I jever suggested otherwise

You can come up with different comparisons all but at the end of the day they still own the connection. And last time I checked the First Amendment was to keep the government's powers in check, it has nothing to do with random company who happens to have a gateway to a form of communication.

We can't give ISPs control of a region AND give them control over what you can and cannot see if it doesn't line up with their values. Because that is effectively the people giving up their free speech for their corporate overlords to exercise theirs. Websites controlling their content is one thing. This is an entirely different ballpark in an entirely different city.

Except it isn't. If you're going to violate the First Amendment rights of ISP's, then you ALSO must violate the First Amendment rights of hosts.

And we all know that the only Amendment liberals hate more than the Second is the First.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_Oil_Co._v._United_States
As in the case against American Tobacco, which was decided the same day, the Court concluded that these facts were within the power of Congress to regulate under the Commerce Clause. The Court recognized that, "taken literally," the term "restraint of trade" could refer to any number of normal or usual contracts that do not harm the public. The Court embarked on a lengthy exegesis of English authorities relevant to the meaning of the term "restraint of trade." Based on this review, the Court concluded that the term "restraint of trade" had come to refer to a contract that resulted in "monopoly or its consequences." The Court identified three such consequences: higher prices, reduced output, and reduced quality.

The commerce clause literally can't apply, since no interstate commerce could be regulated. Your ISP is literally local, as regulated by law.

It's anticipated to have SLIGHTLY more NEW CASES than all but two, this year. Significantly more people, right now, at this time, have lung cancer or colon cancer. More people die EVERY year from those two.

But the only cancer that has an "awareness month" is breast cancer. Breast cancer gets significantly more funding than pretty much other cancer research COMBINED.

THAT DISCREPANCY NEEDS TO END.

Breast cancer still has the highest prevalence of any other cancer in the US. Higher than prostate, higher than colon, higher than lung. Breast cancer also has a higher incidence than all other cancers. Thanks to cancer research, the 5 year survival for certain types of breast cancer, most notably estrogen receptor positive cancers and progestin receptor positive cancers, has significantly improved.

https://gis.cdc.gov/Cancer/USCS/DataViz.html

I think you're being dense on purpose, because you're still looking at NEW CASES, and not overall numbers. Hell, even if we just accept your numbers, less people have lung cancer, BUT FAR MORE PEOPLE DIE.

So, fuck them because they aren't women?

As a matter of fact, such actions would be "compelled speech," which the First Amendment specifically prohibits.

You have a first amendment right to block speech.

That is a fucking impressive mental Olympic championship quality performance all categories.

That's literally what protests are all about.

The Boston Tea Party was to block free speech?

Every protest of the KKK is to block free speech.

Are you being dense on purpose, or what?

Wow guys, people are funneling money to the most common form of cancer. Such sexism!

Lung cancer is the most common form, yet doesn't get as much money as breast cancer. You're only looking at "new cases," which skews your results.

>more people getting diagnosed with breast cancer than other cancers
>GUYS STOP FUNNELING MONEY TO BREAST CANCER, SEXISM!!!

Jesus Christ, just take the L already.

I never said to stop funneling the money. I said that it's absolutely fucking insane to send so much more to breast cancer when there are more people with THREE OTHER TYPES OF CANCER, and breast cancer gets MORE MONEY THAN ALL OF THEM COMBINED.

Like, are you completely illiterate? None of your sources don't even back up your posts.

Fair, next. The ISPs are private companies. The 1st amendment only protects you from the government interference of free speech.

Oh wait, sorry. I forgot. That reasoning only applies when universities forbid conservative speakers from coming on campus or even when public universities give the antifa mobs free reign to shut them down with their violence.

What would your reaction to Comcast blocking Breitbart be?

I don't go to Breitbart and Comcast is not my ISP. If both of those things were true, then I would either accept it or find another ISP that allowed access to Breitbart. Either way, I wouldn't think that just because a company is doing something I don't like that the government should regulate them to do what I want. I don't have some inherent right to access a particular website and it's not a private company's to duty to ensure that I have such access.

Does a private company have a duty to allow Trump to connect to Twitter?

Nope. Trump supporters rarely understand what the right to free speech actually is

vQtRyRn

You realize that this literally backs up what Kavanaugh says, right?

why is sktgamer so insistent on ignoring the obvious disparity?

Why do you hate women having rights? See, I can make stupid poss too!

Also:

https://www.cancer.gov/types/common-cancers

Hm, which one has the highest expected cases on 2018

https://tinyurl.com/FeMiNiSmIsBaD

Hmm, which cancer had the highest number of cases in 2017

Wow, maybe breast cancer is actually a threat and not just fucking feminism you fucking jokes.

Both of those links rate lung cancer (with men getting twice the number of cases as women), colon cancer (with men having a third more cases than women) and prostate cancer as having more than breast cancer.

Yet breast cancer gets more money for research than all three combined.

Those all have more deaths, but not more cases.

WOW READING IS HARD

"Those cases are deadlier, but we don't need to spend more money on them, because men don't deserve it!"

Maybe breast cancer has a low death toll because money has been pouring in to not only find a cure, but also market shit like early detection, get tested, etc.

WOW, LOGIC IS SUCH HARD

Except that's been the case literally for decades. That money flows in because feminists believe women are worth more than men.

So why aren't alt righ rally groups arrested?

Can you name a time where they are actually breaking the law and not arrested?

Well this doesn't qualify as "not arrested" but Trump just pardoned a bunch of the Bundy takeover scumbags.

He pardoned the people who's arrest started that stuff.

The people who actually committed the takeover were all exonerated or had their charges dropped because the government fucked up and lied about it.

I love the men who think feminism should be giving men more stuff. If you want male shelters, paternity leave, and prostate cancer awareness do it yourselves. Women won't stop you.

Women don't finance any of that stuff themselves. They expect the government to provide all of that for them.

Again, despite the fact that prostate cancer kills almost double the number of people breast cancer does, the government spends WAAAAAAY more money on breast cancer.

Because he's a modern feminist, and the only disparities they care about are the ones that women get the short end of.

Men can get breast cancer though

Right, but at nowhere near the same level as women. The two types of cancer that are above breast cancer that I alluded to also can be contracted by women.

Also, I'd LOVE to see a single ad for breast cancer awareness or breast cancer research donations that didn't talk about women. I've seen ones that mention men getting it as kind of a footnote, like "oh, and did you know men have a microscopically small chance of getting it, too?" but I've never seen one that talked specifically about men getting breast cancer.
