I don't know how the courses are over in Canada, but here it doesn't really matter if you treat a bachelor like a master. The courses are way different, the thesis is typically bigger (for two year masters, which is practically the only thing anyone does) and it's just altogether different. Maybe you'll have the opportunity to be more flexible.

Mal is correct here. The fighter with the most skill would win. If the samurai were forced to use katana and the knight had heavy armor at their disposal, the knight would have an advantage. Who wins is based on their skill, and their form of the day.

Discussions of tiers are done under the assumption that combatants are at equal skill level

"Equal skill level" is a really fuzzy concept when the skills are different things meant for different scenarios. A samurai wouldn't even use a katana vs an armored knight to begin with, as has been pointed out. Katana swordplay wasn't developed for that kind of opponent.

So it goes mother fucking Nigeria then the United States.... Really CNN? REALLY?

Why are you blaming CNN for this?

I'll agree that this looks a bit weird, especially when they outright say that a big reason the US climbed is because of all the reports of sexual misconduct following #metoo. It should surprise no one that that misconduct was there all along, and more importantly you'd have to be seriously tunnel-visioned to believe that these kinds of structures are somehow more prevalent in the US than elsewhere.

Now, of course there could be other things to look at and measure. Comparisons like these are never straightforward, because you have to find a proper weighting of different factors. How much weight do you put on things like legislation and public structures, like maternity leave, access to abortion, etc., compared to statistics of crime happening? How to define "dangerous" will always be tricky and contentious, and the results won't ever be very accurate considering there's so much crime and shit going on that doesn't get reported. The #metoo thing is a good example of just that.

Anyway I would expect the US to end up higher on the list than people here would be comfortable with, but 10th place because #metoo revealed some unreported sexual abuse? No way.

Topic title: Company pulls 'Boys Will Be Boys' T-shirt after liberals claim it's rape culture

Scar the 1: no one is arguing that!

Ok dude no one is arguing that.

Again, two things. First off, the argument that the phrase "boys will be boys" is rape culture is not the same as saying that the phrase is used to justify rape.
Second, the topic title was made by UR. Nowhere in the video you referred me to or in the Fox News article was the word rape ever used.
In fact, many who take issue with the phrase do so even when it excuses bad behavior that isn't necessarily harassing girls. It's also used to excuse all sorts of bullying.

It is the same thing. Rape culture is the myth that implies that people just dismiss rape like its no big deal. Even though no one seems to be able to come up with evidence of this.

Im sure your right though. Its probably just a coincidence that they got the cast of law and order svu to do a psa not about rape or sexual assault, but generally bullying.

Even the most extreme climate change models aren't predicting doomsday in 100 years.

The only mass extinction events we could be facing would be a super volcano erupting, a large solar event, or a celestial impact. A nuclear winter from war could count too, I suppose.

Well.... keep in mind that the conflict in Syria was sparked due to a drought. The climate will likely contribute to a lot of refugees in the future, either directly (e.g., floods, droughts etc) or indirectly (from conflicts arising partly due to harsh conditions).
