WASHINGTON (AP) FBI leaders and local law enforcement officials are studying shootings in schools to piece together trends and come up with ways to prevent future violence, officials said.

The FBI on Wednesday hosted a daylong session at its headquarters to discuss common warning signs of shooters, information sharing among law enforcement and response plans among schools.

On Wednesday, the FBI shared the findings of recent research into 63 active shooters. The research showed that most, 77 percent, had spent a week or longer planning their attack and that many of them had shown multiple signs of warning behavior in the year before the violence. The FBI said it could verify that 25 percent of the shooters who were studied had been previously diagnosed with a mental illness.

I retract my previous comment. This is only going to affect Harleys made for non-US markets. Apparently all US Harleys are still going to be manufactured in the US. (Well, as much as anything is homegrown nowadays.)

A Louisiana Burger King reportedly refused to serve two uniformed officers who tried to order food through the drive-thru last month.

According to the Bayou Journal, the Assumption Parish sheriffs deputies had just finished SWAT training and went to a Burger King in St. Francisville to get some food.

When the police officers tried to order through the drive-thru speaker at the fast food chain, employees allegedly denied their request.

The only response was laughter, he said, WBRZ reported.

What is troubling is that these same Burger King employees, in the event a robbery was occurring at the time, would have expected these two deputies to take a bullet for them, and those deputies would have."

Delta Airlines added further restrictions to its updated support animal policy when it announced on Wednesday that "pit bull type dogs" will no longer be accepted as service or emotional support animals to accompany owners on flights. The policy change includes limiting one emotional support animal per customer. The changes go into effect July 10.

The announcement comes on the heels of a number of incidents regarding defecation and urination by animals on Delta planes, and complaints by Delta flight attendants of being bitten by pit bulls. According to Delta, there has been an 84 percent increase in such incidents involving emotional support dogs since June 2016. Last June, a passenger was mauled by another passengers 70-pound pit bull while trapped in a window seat and required 28 stitches across his face.

Philip Dawson is the director of Chestnut Hill's business district in Philadelphia. He says Warner Bros. reached out to his group in May, letting them know that new guidelines have been put in place regarding such festivals that prohibit the use of any names, places or objects from the series.

Festival directors around the country, including in Aurora, Illinois, and Ithaca, New York, were also told that the new guidelines would prohibit much of the Potter-themed activities.
