Topic | Which Star Trek captain do you like best? |
Bumble_ 07/01/18 4:48:43 PM #67 | People like to gloss over the fact that they were in a 70 years survival situation with no hope of rescue. Heh... and some seem to rely on it as an excuse for anything and everything. When Janeway' questionable decicions are brought up. Eh, anyway. I'l try to bring up my view on these two once more, I guess. In "The Swarm" episode. From what I remember her supposedly minor indiscretion of violating the borders of an alien species (despite being asked not to by the aliens in their message) and pointed out by Tuvok of it being, hm "against the rules" let's say for now. Anyway, it led to a battle with the aliens and they lost multiple ships as a result. And it should have been pretty easy to predict that it would lead to a battle, if they are caught too. Them being "bullies" and all :). And yes, I'd argue that they have the right to defend their area of space. Bullies or not. Certainly don't agree that Captain Jane was in the right here. 15 or 15 000 months/70 or 70 000 years. Don't matter. Okay... if it was 15 000 months or 70 000 years, it would have been easier to swallow :). Except that for this one, Kim convinced the entire crew, not just Janeway. Yeah, not exactly in my opinion. Convinced more than just her it seemed though. You can say that much. Regardless, her second in command at the very least seemed to have his doubts. And very accurately pointing it out, that yea in theory it looks good enough. But, that it's also borderline bats*** insane from any rational standpoint. And lo and behold! It turned out to be :). Anyway, yeah. You can make some excuses for Janeway's behavior at times, sure. Well... if you want to rely on that "But, but... 70 years or how many ever lightyears away it was". But in both of these, I don't agree that neither one was particularly smart decision, even with that in mind. So yep, I just don't agree of it being that strong defence, I suppose :). |

Bumble_ 07/01/18 3:28:20 PM #64 | I looked this episode up on MemoryAlpha because I didn't remember it and there's no mention of violating the PD. Tuvok points out that going through the Swarm's space when they're not welcome is against Starfleet regulation, but I think it's a reasonable thing to do if the alternative is adding 15 months of travel time. Hm. You may be right, that it was just against regulations or something and not against PD necessarily. Don't remember too well anymore. But still, even if so. The example, still gets the point across, I hope :). However, I don't agree with you, of it being reasonable. I seriously doubt that regulations too, were intended to be broken for the sake of convenience essentially. Hence Tuvok pointing it out. Whichever it technically was. |

Bumble_ 07/01/18 2:37:59 PM #58 | Go watch DS9 from Beginning to End. The best Star Trek has to offer is with DS9 IMO. Been meaning to, for a good while. But never got around to it thus far. I'm sure, I will though. Eventually :). |
Topic | Which Star Trek captain do you like best? |
Bumble_ 07/01/18 2:03:41 PM #55 | I haven't watched all Star Trek shows admittedly. So don't really have any knowledge about everyone on that list. But for me... Picard. Quite easily, I might add. Voyager was the last Star Trek show, I watched. But yea... I really, REALLY hated Janeway. I went from TNG to Voyager with my watching... Now, where Picard came across like an smart & enlightened man. You know, like you'd kinda expect a little bit from a man of his position and more civilized timeperiod. Captain "Jane" (Zimmerman really knew what he was talking about), seemed like she would have been more at home in 1500-1700s. Like in those holodeck plays she liked. The arrogance, stupidity not to mention that haglike voice of hers. She literally made the show worse. Pretty big problem considering she was the main character essentially. To be honest, the Voyager crew was kinda s*** overall. Only one I really liked was the Doctor. Her behavior really stuck out from few episodes. Warning some spoilers from couple episodes. Season 3, Episode 4 - "The Swarm". In this episode she basically ignores the prime directive entirely for her convinience AND because she dislikes those particular aliens. So, it's cool. And of course she gets away with it, because she's captain Jane! Tuvok even brings this up, point blank. Her response? They are bullies, so f*** the PD. AND of course, I'm not going to wait 15 extra months. I'm Captain Jane! Yeah.. Season 5, Episode 6 - "Timeless" Here, she had gotten nearly her entire crew killed (3 survived. Good job Captain), once again due to her impatience and stupidity. Yes, Janeway is the one ultimately responsible. I mean, what kind of f****** imbecile of a captain, would put their faith solely in the hands of "Wahh! I wanna go home!1" Kimity-Kim? Especially, when the whole idea sounds shaky as hell. And once again, others try to warn her, that it's too dangerous, reckless etc. But of course, she does not listen. She's Captain Jane! She is always right! Says something like and I quote: "We've waited long enough". So yea... f*** that little thing called reality. Anyway, Kimity-Kim, Doctor and that Indian (I forgot his name) go and change history. So, captain Jane is not left a frozen corpse on some nameless planet with her crew of pets. That would have been SO tragic afterall. Yes... let's change the entire timeline, lives and destinies of countless trillions. Just because Captain Jane had to be impatient once again... AND stupid enough to trust her snotball of an ensign. Ugh... Anyway, yeah. Picard worship TNG often engaged with, worked. Because, most of the time Picard really DID know a best course of action, to a situation. Janeway worship in Voyager was just revolting, because the woman is an idiot. |

Topic | Have you ever gotten a warning or higher on this site? |
Bumble_ 06/30/18 7:13:35 PM #89 | Gotten warning or two over the years. Mainly because, it's considered being offensive, if you say what you like and what you don't about certain things. Often, even when it's asked, I might add. And aren't "delicate" enough for every single liberal/feminist/black/arab/etc. snowflake on this earth, when you say it. Their tender feelings are paramount after all, in ALL cases. Truth? Secon- nuh... tertiary at best. Ugh... what a h********. See? That probably was not delicate enough for everyone again. Haha... I imagine I'm due for karma drop again shortly :). |
Topic | I wish other species had evolved to human level |
Bumble_ 06/30/18 6:15:02 PM #35 | I think the bigger problem lies in that elves are often portrayed as the racists who consider elf-human relationships to be forbidden love. Getting an elf to love you would be tough, and getting their family to approve would be near impossible. Yes. Elves (even the nicer ones), often DO tend to look down on other species somewhat. It's true. But, it does not seem that unusual to have elf/human relationships in most of the stereotypical fantasy worlds (LotR, D&D etc.). And anyway, it was not really the point. I just said, what I'd likely prefer. Not what is necessarily, "easy" :). |

Bumble_ 06/30/18 5:54:23 PM #30 | Zikten posted... There are dark elves too. The DnD kind though are too spider obsessed for my tastes Very true! Haha! I wouldn't have any issue with dating dark elf more than likely. Well, if not for that little issue, that they are usually portrayed as being, essentially a race of sociopaths. And tend to murder anyone that is not them. But! Despite that. At least they are pretty (very important!) and generally considered quite intelligent too! Oh! What a wonderful and righteous children we'd have :). Plus, the irony is rather delicious and brings smile to my lips. Considering, how I feel about them "darker" ones on my own species. God, how I'd love to rub it in :). |

Bumble_ 06/30/18 5:42:26 PM #26 | Shuto-uke posted... What's with racist people who wouldn't even date someone slightly darker than them (let alone a black person) saying they'd date other SPECIES? lol Heh... It really is quite simple, if you think about it a little bit that is. Elves for example. The way they are usually portrayed. Beautiful and, oh yes! Enlightened species. You can probably see, where this is going, hmmh :)? Now, if you compare the level of overall sophistication/attractiveness between our different ethnicities. Well, for one of us in particular, it's pretty easy to see the logic in preferring elven girls over other ethnicities. Wouldn't date orcs tho. Their usual portrayal is: Brutish, ugly and dumb. That does not really work for me... with other "species" either :). |
Topic | Rate this video game genre: Racing |
Bumble_ 06/21/18 8:03:11 AM #10 | Incredibly boring genre. I think last time I had any fun with any racing game. Was during PS1 era or something, when I played Gran Turismo 1 or 2 (don't remember anymore). But to be honest, I haven't really tried too many since then either. Just don't appeal to me a whole lot, to drive in circles and such for hours :). Anyway. Hm... 3/10. At least I don't remember them downright pissing me off, like platformers. Which, I stopped playing entirely back in late 90s due to that :). |

Topic | Death Penalty Supporters: What is the preferable method of execution? |
Bumble_ 05/15/18 10:16:06 PM #39 | Hanging. With a short drop (think of that scene in Sopranos). It gives the perp time to reflect his degenerate decisions that got him into that situation. Decapitation would also be okay, and in some ways even better. But I have always been more partial to hanging myself. There is something, I find... satisfying, in the idea of watching denegerates wiggle and soil themselves before strangulation. Anyway, personal preference aside. Why waste bullets, electricity or pay for chemicals? Let's try to minimize use of material on mongrels now, hmmh? |
Topic | Do you know any super smart super religious people? |
Bumble_ 05/12/18 3:38:41 PM #11 | No But I have met quite a few exceptionally dumb ones. Then again, I guess being a bit dumb is somewhat of an requirement, when you believe (or claim to) in something which you have no credible evidence whatsoever of. The... "I just know it." or "Well, many other people do too." or "It must be true, I refuse to accept it's not!, is not really enough... if you have a brain that is :). Also, the common theme most every religious whackjob, I've ever met has had. Is, how they all turn a******* the second it becomes clear they can never convert you AND you clearly don't share their infantile views. |
Topic | A dying woman calls emergency services. She is told 'everyone' dies. |
Bumble_ 05/12/18 3:20:40 PM #47 | Ugh... repulsive read that. This piece of trash would already be counting hours on death row, if it was up to me. AND I would have definitely reminded her of that line of hers, when she's being walked/dragged to... take her medicine, so to speak. Now, that'd be justice at it's finest... *sigh*. |
Topic | Sleeping Dogs |
Bumble_ 05/07/18 2:55:04 PM #16 | Yep It is a good game. Was bit surprised at the time (when it was current), how most reviews (I watched) didn't really consider it more than an average or, at best 7/10 quality and such. Still... for me, it was one of the first games, I ended up playing enough to complete all achievements etc. Yea, guess it's unlikely we'll ever see sequel to it now though. Wasn't one in the making, but it got cancelled? And apparently, while it sold fine, the publisher... ugh, was dissatisfied too. So... yeah :/. |
Topic | POLL: Do you support same-sex marriage |
Bumble_ 05/05/18 10:55:15 AM #53 | Yeah... I guess, I do. Personally, I'd like it if it was restricted to only really sexy girls and REALLY girly guys (as in you'd think they were pretty girls if you saw them). But that's probably seen as unfair. What a shame :). Saw two guys kiss eachother in public once... I have to admit, I was somewhat repulsed by the sight. Now, had they been the aforementioned standards, there would have been no problem... see :)? |
Topic | Rock or Hip-Hop |
Bumble_ 05/05/18 10:38:35 AM #25 | Pretty easy choice, as I'd barely qualify the 2nd one as music at all. Most "songs" come across more like a tiresome and infantile monoloque, of certain ethnicity telling us what a big man he supposedly is... Ugh... ridiculous. |
Topic | Discuss: would you let an attractive gay guy suck your dick? |
Bumble_ 05/01/18 5:31:39 PM #7 | If he looked like that. Then hell no. To me, attractive guy would be the type you'd think was a girl before her... oh sorry... his panties are down :). And then yes :). |
Topic | Do you use the "n" word? |
Bumble_ 04/30/18 8:10:29 PM #14 | Yes And I always will. |
Topic | The literal perfect woman but she doesn't shave |
Bumble_ 03/21/18 9:10:25 PM #9 | If she is insane enough never to shave, she is pretty far from perfect. Hmph! Personally, I think it should be a law for women these days to keep their body hairless... below their eyes naturally. Especially, when you know how it would cause modern feminists and such whine about it incessantly. That's a good thing. You just don't listen and it's a source of additional amusement :). |

Bumble_ 02/24/18 6:41:44 AM #37 | MabusIncarnate posted... All I know is intention always outweighs reality. Ugh... This overunderstanding apologist attitude (that is so common these days), makes me want to vomit. The ridiculous logic, that you can't criticize anyone or anything, if you aren't 110% sure, that you can do better. With this logic - most of the time, no one could say anything about anything... no matter how f****** up it was. Because: You ain't any better, horses*** excuse. You don't need to know, if you would be braver than him personally in that situation, to say whether he is a coward or not. And yes... he clearly is. A disgrace. He was too cowardly to do what he was supposed to do in a moment, when it was more important than ever. He should be jailed in my opinion. For the rest of his days, I might add. Perhaps, I wouldn't be any better. I don't know. But if I turned out to be as cowardly as he was. I should be labeled as coward too, along with everything aforementioned. It's as simple as that. |
Topic | Would you date a girl who is high-functioning autistic? |
Bumble_ 02/23/18 4:03:02 PM #57 | -Kicksave- posted... TC, let me simply the decision making process for most males: Yes... and girls often seem to have no problem dating some repulsive/obese swine... if he happens to be rich. From the two. I think the male view is more... honest, at the very least :). That said, I wouldn't date the movie type/homicidal psychopath... Unless she was really, REALLY hot. Heh! Anyway, yes, indeed! "Is she hot", is extremely relevant question. It always is really. But especially, if the social side of her, is unlikely to be that appealing... Oh bohoo! |
