When you're doing maths, just remember that it's not like other subjects. It's incredible artistic, almost to the point where you have to be paying complete attention to it to even remotely understand it. I remember doing an algebra problem (though I can't remember what it was), where I thought a problem was absolute bollocks during the problem solving. Then, I closed my eyes for a second, and all of a sudden the problem had an entirely new meaning. It was insane the way maths could just become something so different when you take a look at the material.

Another thing you should note about maths is that it's easy to get a headache doing it. Not because it's a bad subject, but because of how many formulas its material is riddled with and how complex they are. Soon enough your head will fill to the brim and the rest will just seem like scribbles to you. Just put it away and give it a go the next day.

If you don't like the subject, you'll definitely at least enjoy reading through the textbooks, and picking apart the problem itself and all of the artistic values that go into making it the complexity that it is.

Their team got the winning goal at the World Cup, or they got an A+ on a maths test, or their kid was just born, or something?
