When I first started video games, all I had access to was Super Mario Land, Metroid II, and Battletoads, all of which were too hard for me, but Kirby's Dream Land was my jam. I do think Star Allies was a bit too easy, though, even for Kirby. I think an important distinction between Apu and Khan was that Apu was a pretty one-dimensional character, whereas Khan and his family were significantly more fleshed out. Both characters do include some stereotypes in their depictions, but in the case of Khan, those stereotypes are explored in a really humanizing way. I think the episode that did this the best was the one where Connie was rejected from a prestigious school and the effects that had on Khan. | IronChef_Kirby 04/09/18 1:11:29 AM #3 | Put yourself in the kid's shoes - you're in a situation you find extremely upsetting for some reason, and then on top of all that, your parents start hurting you. Is that going to calm you down? Tantrums that occur for the purpose of gaining something tend to burn out way faster than this. For the screaming to go on for 8 hours suggests to me that this kid was scared out of his mind. I strongly doubt this kid is just some brat trying to get a toy or something. As for why iPads are so popular, they're basically crack for kids. It's an easy way out for any parent who just wants their kid to shut up and disappear for a while. For me, it mostly manifests as a persistent gut feeling that whatever I do or participate in is going to go wrong.
