MorganTJ 07/11/18 4:43:21 PM #26 | It was cool, though it sucks how few panels they had on Saturday that I was interested in. I only buy one-day passes before they're full-price, so I have to choose way in advance what day I have to go. I ended up doing the Jojo escape room too, and that was actually super fun. I sort of regret not being able to do the Zero Escape one that they did a few years back. |

MorganTJ 07/11/18 12:34:55 PM #5 | I finished the Trails in the Sky series fairly recently, is it recommended to just jump into Cold Steel right after? I know there's a couple games that were released in Japan that weren't localized yet, and I don't know if I should wait for them or not. |

MorganTJ 07/06/18 8:54:41 PM #32 | FrisbeeDude posted... They got fired for THAT? Yikes. Gamergaters must've came out hard She also apparently tweeted that she was relieved when TotalBiscuit died, so I assume this was the final straw, rather than an isolated incident. The guy she got into an argument with is also apparently a fairly big content creator for GW2 as well, so much so that they made him an NPC in the game. I'm not sure how warranted the other guy's termination was though. |

MorganTJ 07/06/18 8:45:24 PM #18 | Kaiganeer posted... i liked the first couple of hours, but then found out that stuff is timegated (as in, if you wait too long to do something it becomes unavailable), so i felt pressured to find and complete quests as fast as i could instead of dicking around and exploring, which is what i initially liked. also hated that you gain stats based on what class you have equipped, so if you were to switch classes around a lot (which i did), you'd end up with a subpar character I totally get the second complaint, especially since the class I wanted to play (magick archer) has subpar growths for what it wants to do. I ended up modding my game so that it gave me similar growths to what a standard mage's growths would be. You can do the same if that's what bothers you, but I think the solution to the quests one is to just keep a guide handy for when stuff gets locked off. |

MorganTJ 06/19/18 8:21:47 PM #4 | Xenoblade has some occasional framerate issues on the Wii. I don't know if there's any issues with the Wii U port, but if it does run better I would just get that. |

MorganTJ 06/15/18 1:48:09 PM #23 | If it helps you sympathize with him a little, Kaiji apparently takes places at a point during the 90's where unemployment was at a record high in Japan, highest it had been since World War II or something like that. |

MorganTJ 06/14/18 10:35:29 PM #52 | When I took that Sporcle quiz, I couldn't get Exeggutor or its pre-evo because of the spelling, so I'd assume people were spelling it as "Lickitongue." It doesn't help that Lickilicky is one of my least favorite Pokemon because I think it shits on Lickitung's design, so I'm probably just biased. |

MorganTJ 06/14/18 8:53:23 PM #38 | pojr posted... Get 1: Wigglytuff You mean besides being the evolution of one of the most popular Gen 1 Pokemon? A lot of Pokemon are only memorable if only because they have a notable member of its evolutionary line. Might as well argue that Leafeon or Raichu are obscure because their pre-evolved forms are more popular. |

MorganTJ 06/14/18 7:00:42 PM #25 | Ki_cat_ posted... Which is why we remember it. Mr.Mime only got a stupid baby from in gen 4 but it's always been under used or never. Yeah, but Ash's mom has one at home and I'm sure Mr. Ketchum isn't missed. >_> The way I see it, the most forgettable Pokemon can't be 1. Part of a recurring archetype (starters, Pikachu clone, Route 1 bird, Route 1 Rodent, etc.) 2. owned by a prominent character in the games or anime, 3. competitively significant, or 4. a meme. You can make a case for why any Gen 1 Pokemon isn't forgettable, but that's because everyone knows the first gen. No one will fight you for forgetting Stantler or Finneon though. |
Topic | Most forgettable Pokemon of each gen. |
MorganTJ 06/14/18 6:27:26 PM #22 | I'd argue that Tangela has an evolution that's notorious in competitive play, so Farfetch'd is left as the only Gen 1 Pokemon that was never good and never got any help through evolutions or new mechanics in later gens. If anything it's notable for how little GameFreak seems to care about it. |

Topic | okay starting to watch ,my hero academia |
MorganTJ 05/01/18 2:34:43 PM #33 | My issue with the beginning of the series is that it seems like Deku wasn't putting as much effort into his options of becoming a quirkless hero as he probably should have. UA is shown to have support-oriented classes where the students create gadgets, so he could've gotten savvy with engineering, or at least gotten friendly with a gadgeteer. The very first draft for the series actually has Deku as a 20-something year old salary man trying to market his equipment to actual superheroes, so quirkless Deku just seemed more consistent with how the rest of the series would play out. I feel like in the draft before One for All, Deku was probably already creating things while also taking notes on peoples' quirks, and that All Might's support would be the emotional spark to encourage him to follow his dreams. Very Light MHA Vigilantes Spoilers: It's honestly fine either way, but I would've liked Deku at least acknowledging other options to start with. He didn't even bother getting physically fit until All Might's training. |

MorganTJ 05/01/18 3:55:56 AM #18 | apolloooo posted... Someone should tell midoriya about batman IIRC, the author's original idea was that Deku would stay quirkless and probably use gadgets to keep up, but One for All was a last minute suggestion by the editor. On one hand, I think I would've preferred BatDeku, but All Might was changed from just an inspiration for him to his mentor, and I really do like their student-teacher relationship. |

MorganTJ 04/09/18 6:33:11 PM #151 | CyricZ posted... MorganTJ posted...I always considered teabagging as more of a taunt than anything sexual. If it's safe to assume that this is an FPS, you're also not supposed to kill people IRL, but I like to think that everyone understands that at least. You're completely right that he's representing his company when he's introducing the game to journalists, and I think teabagging in a professional scenario like that is definitely a faux pas. I just think that she should've tried to address the issue on her own without going to his employer and causing a big stink about it. You don't generally go to someone's employer about the employee's negative behavior without at least some minor expectation that the situation will escalate and the person just might get fired (she was vague about how she hoped she ruined the guy's weekend in a tweet, but it seemed like she was hoping he would be punished in some way). If the game dev was either unapologetic about it, or was repeatedly committing the offense, she definitely should've gone to his higher-ups. I just think she should've told the game dev that she didn't appreciate that sort of behavior, and try to settle the issue like adults. |
Topic | MALE dev teabags FEMALE journalist IN game DEMO. Might GET fired >_> |
MorganTJ 04/09/18 5:57:28 PM #132 | I always considered teabagging as more of a taunt than anything sexual. If someone teabags me in an FPS, it's always just more a challenge to beat them and return the favor. If you've played any team FPS ever, spamming the crouch button will generally get some of your teammates to start doing it too, just because it's a thing to do to interact without having to speak. In Smash specifically, you can't even teabag an opponent you just knocked out, but repeatedly crouching hurts just as much as taunting. If you play against the CPUs enough, even they'll start crouching after a KO because the AI in the later games learn to use techniques that generally lead to winning, and that's one of them I guess. I just think this situation escalated WAY too much. Just tell the dev that did it that it wasn't cool, to cut it out and move on. Why does everyone assume everything is done out of malicious intent? |
Topic | Does Pillars of Eternity get better past that sea town in chapter 2? |
MorganTJ 04/08/18 8:10:50 PM #19 | Yeah, your party seems fine. Honestly, I felt that Defiance Bay was also one of the weaker elements of the first game, especially since they didn't do much with whatever faction you side with to progress the story. I would just trudge through it. IIRC both your priest and the cipher you can get both have quests that seem to progress the longer you have them in your party. If you're going for all the sidequests you can possibly get, I'd say you should side someone out for Grieving Mother temporarily, at least until you finish her quest (if you care to, obviously). |
Topic | Does Pillars of Eternity get better past that sea town in chapter 2? |
MorganTJ 04/08/18 7:48:02 PM #17 | You get Aloth for a wizard really early in the game, so I don't think you necessarily need another wizard. If you have the DLC as well, you can get one of each class in the game, not including your own character. Unless you're seriously not enjoying how your character plays, I'd say just stick with it. What class is your character anyways? You should be able to build a decent team around them no matter what. |

MorganTJ 04/08/18 6:14:28 AM #15 | BTW, if you plan on doing the Nightmare Arena, bring Anelace along. If you beat it with her in the party, her Jinu gets super upgraded into her ultimate weapon. If you don't want to actually use her as a damage dealer in the fights, you can put the time orb that you get from one of the Sun Doors on her in order to double her casting speed and just constantly cast Earth Wall on everyone. |

MorganTJ 03/26/18 5:16:24 PM #30 | Once you get to the desert, Darumaka and Sandile's final evolutions are both really good. Of note, there's also Litwick and Axew from that generation that you can get a bit later on as well. In general, Gen 5 has the most min-maxed Pokemon statwise, so most of your choices of Pokemon from that gen are gonna be pretty good regardless. The main issue is that some of them, like Larvesta and Deino, don't get their final evolutions until way past level 50. |
