So more Legendaries were revealed

I dunno what to make of them as of right now, but outside of both Warrior ones And Shaman/Druid minions there isnt anything super exceptional. Maybe Myra Spell as a super Aluneth

I think the paladin spell and Zilliax could be useful, but the rest seem mostly niche so far. We haven't seen any real build-around legendaries so far, mostly stuff that has single effects, so maybe things will change a bit.

The final card reveal livestream was also announced:
Join Game Designer Mike Donais and Sean Day[9] Plott as they dive into the last of The Boomday Projects cards, showcasing their own brand of weird science with some interesting decks weve brewed up for the stream.

The stream goes live on Blizzard's Twitch channel Wednesday, August 1 at 10:00 am PT. Be sure to follow us to be notified when we go live!

It's a bit earlier this expansion since there's the pre-release event on Friday of that week, and the set goes live the next Tuesday.

That Druid card looks really strong as a tool, with the potential for a second/cheap Malygos/Hadronox just as a start.

Blizzard announced balance changes will happen after HCT finals at the end of May. https://us.battle.net/forums/en/hearthstone/topic/20764026353

Iksar commented yesterday that they were looking at a subset of cards from these options.
We would not change all of these cards, but these are the cards weve discussed. Sunkeeper, Call to Arms, Baku Paladin Hero Power, Spiteful, Lackey, Guldan, Dark Pact, Librarian, Quest Rogue, and Doomguard

https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/8hnw1z/iksar_responded_last_night_clarifying_his_tweets/

I think Naga Sea Witch was another card they were looking at for wild.

Cleared Tracker with a majority Jade deck that had a Sonya in one bin, and Cannoneer with a bunch of inspire cards, plus the relic that reduces your card cost with every hero power. Both runs had the +1 minion cost for your opponent relic, it still does a lot.

Checked in on arena after taking a little break:
MyGXxWt

Looks like Paladin is still busted. I think the worst card in my deck was the Bloodworm, that might be the most powerful deck I've drafted in a very long time, if not ever.

Rewards were 420 gold, golden rare, and a pack.

I think the other notable 1-cost (even) Death Knight hero power would be Shadowreaper Anduin, where you would be able to get 4 hero powers off by using 3 cards/6 mana, in some combination. With double Radiant Elemental and a Shadow Visions loop, you could even get 6 hero powers in a turn, compared to 3 normally.

Personally, without Mistress, I was having trouble finding things to do in the early turns as Cubelock. I would fill up my hand and need to dump something like naked Umbra or Prince 3 in the early turns just to clear out my hand against the slow decks I was facing. Maybe I just need to add mountain giants to my deck, since I was using a mix without them last expansion.

78 packs as a start (preorder+quests+arena), final haul:
Archmage Arugal as the free legendary
Dollmaster Dorian
Houndmaster Shaw
Countess Ashmore!
Chameleos!
Genn Greymane

Crafted Lady in White as a start, Ill probably work on epics next since my luck there was terrible. Still debating Hagatha, she might be on my horizon still.

Managed to get to rank 5 before rotation by going something like 17-1 from rank 11-0 to 5-1 (with Dude Paladin and Secret Mage) over the last two days. I guess I might actually try for Legend this time?

My last arena run is also set at 7-2, including this game at 5-1 where things started poorly, and then I played about 6 generated Drakonid Operatives and closed the game out. https://hsreplay.net/replay/55RaMp7tiattxtyb7bzzCW

I saw some rumblings that blizzard might have upped the deck quality a bunch with the patch (patch notes said that they were lowering appearance rate of low-quality cards), so it might not be completely mediocre.

Prince 3 sees use in Cubelock, I dont regret keeping my golden copy at all.

Patch notes are out and the patch should be available on non-mobile: https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/21694420

There are a bunch of small things in the collapsed bug fixes section that seem significant, its worth reading. Some highlights:
Deathstalker Rexxars Hero Power has been updated to include Beasts from Kobolds & Catacombs and The Witchwood.
Minions now only break Stealth when attacking. Damage dealt by card abilities, such as Knife Jugglers knife throw, no longer breaks Stealth.
Cards that were burned, such as by drawing cards when your hand is full, will now appear in match history.

Marsh Drake (3 mana 5/4 dragon, battlecry summon a 2/1 poisonous for your opponent) looks like it could be really strong in decks where you curve out, plus its a good activator for dragon paladin.

I think the main thing I'm dreading about Witchwood is that the Old Gods are leaving, which means Spiteful decks are going to be obscene. The only remaining possibilities for 10-drops after rotation are Deathwing, Sea Giant, and Ultrasaur. The only things leaving hope with those was that they could possibly semi-whiff and get a 12-stat Old God. Now the minimum is 16-stats, and the average is over 20.

The new hunter legendary is also a 10 mana 8/8, along with the previously mentioned Tyrantus.

LiquidOshawott posted...
Even Shaman and Paladin seem like theyll be ok

Strongest cards seem to be Godfrey, the Nightmare Amalgalm, the 2 mana 2/2 divine shield taunt Paladin minion, Wing Blast, And Voodoo Doll

Paladin gets a bunch of strong/useful cards in general, that class is going to be gross. The Worgen Abomination card that was revealed earlier today is going to be a terror in arena at a minimum, maybe it sees play in warrior?

Weve barely seen anything out of Mage so far, and Druid/Mage/Priest/Shaman/Warlock dont have echo cards yet, those will be things Im watching for.

Yeah, casting it on your deck means that best case (playing on 6 or coin 5) it can affect 21 cards (including spells), and you still need to draw/play them in order to see the value. Drawing your cards that depend on the buff to be strong in the early game also hurts, and if the meta is still silence-heavy it wont matter if your big cards have more attack or not.

Maybe this is a scenario where Recruit actually gets used for consistency, with Dragonhatcher (Ysera/sleeping dragon/primordial drake) and Guild Recruiter (tortollan/stegodon/stormwind knight)? Everything is still super slow though. In the end, it probably depends on the new cards that are added with 5+ health.

Priest gets a voidcaller, but at 6 and for summoning deathrattle minions from your hand:
081trJo
Because everyone loves to cheat out 9 mana taunts.

Also, speculation, but with all the hand support Druid is getting, could we get something like... Power of the Woods: 2 mana, Choose One: Give your minions +1/+1 or Give minions in your hand +1/+1? I'm not sure that they'd print a straight upgrade of Mark of the Lotus/Smuggler's run, so being 2 mana seems like a compromise. It fills the void left in token druid from Mark of the Lotus rotating too, plus it fits the minor even theme the hand cards have had.

Maybe run Hagatha in an elemental deck with Grumble/Zola/brewmaster type shenanigans? Things like Fire Fly get a bit better in the late game, you just need to survive to get there. A random shaman spell feels worse than a random mage spell though, without looking it up.

It might take a while to print additional useful spells, but given Shaman is losing Maelstrom/devolve/jade lightning/stormcrack/evolve, there should be at least one good spell this set.

The priest copy spell feels like something that will enable some kind of combo deck, given things like Velen/Mind Blast still exist in standard. It might be tougher without Barnes, but there are a lot of potential applications for it.

Blizzard just announced that there will be another daily quest event starting next Tuesday, and running for two weeks. Every daily quest you complete will give you a pack from one of the expansions that will be playable in Year of the Raven (Ungoro, KFT, K&C, Witchwood).

https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/21634714

Theres also a card reveal schedule for a full 2 weeks of reveals. Looks like the expansion might drop around April 11-12th?

It looks like there's some weird synergy draft stuff going on in arena right now? Spells also seem very frequent, even considering their normal increased offering rate.

My Shaman opponent just went Grand Archivist into the arena-only spell that deals 12 damage to everything/overload 10, so I have that going for me. That mage deck is 4-0 so far, and it feels a lot more powerful than anything else I've drafted recently. A deck that drafts 5 AoEs and 3 polymorphs tends to do well, I guess?

My local fireside is (hopefully) hosting a Tavern Hero Qualifier this Sunday. The format is best-of-3, bring 3 decks with one ban, and given that Battlefy is asking for deck codes, I think its might be open decklists.

Are there any off-meta decks that might be worth bringing? My default is probably just going to be cubelock/murloc paladin/tempo mage and expect to ban warlock every time, but Im wondering if it might be worth it to bring something like dragon priest/face hunter.
