again, you're assuming that other people are like you and have the same opportunities and resources or even parents as you. that's simply not the case.

https://www.recode.net/2017/6/20/15839626/disparity-between-urban-rural-internet-access-major-economies

millions of people still don't have access to the internet. millions more drop out of school and never learn drug safety. many others are told the drug safety they learned is false by somebody they trust. there are as many reasons why somebody would not understand the dangers of what they're getting into, and you're painting over that in broad strokes because that's not what your life was. i'm incredibly happy that you never tried these drugs, but don't you dare think for a moment that you're better than those whose circumstances were different, because you're not. you're just different.

also, i was more referring to myself when i was talking about being on CE at 3 am, because i should definitely be asleep right now

Having lived rurally I know for a fact that if you can receive even awful quality satellite TV, you have access to Internet by and large. Funds are another issue, mind, and I've views on that but that's a whole different topic.

There is legitimately always a means to educate yourself. Trusting people is not something someone should ever do on whimsy with any decision pertaining to their life in my books, do it's still all on personal accountability. You only have one life, just accepting the views of those around you and not forming your own is completely unacceptable in my books.

what do you mean by "stay the course?" do you mean they keep falling into their addictions? most people don't realize they're addicted until it's too late. hell, how many times have you thought "i'll make sure to get off CE by 10pm" only to find it's 2:57am and you're debating the finer points of addiction? we all let ourselves fall in to something thinking we won't, it's just that the most vulnerable fall into the worst things.

in addition, it's a very privileged thing to say that "the information is there." most people who become addicted are either never exposed to that information, or have that information countered with false information at the wrong time. how many times has someone told you not to mix liquors because it'll fuck you up? it's bullshit, but that time you were at your first party and fucking Fratboy Garrett said that, you made sure to stick to just tequila for the night, and you still got fucked up anyway.

OR how many times have you tried something where someone said "you'll get hurt" and you thought "nah, not me." that's literally a neurological fact about being young -- you think you're always going to be the exemption, even when all of the evidence says otherwise. we are physically unable to properly register consequence until our brains are fully formed, and addiction nearly always takes place prior to that.

it's all so much more nuanced than "they made a bad choice," and to say otherwise is reductive and damaging and literally killing people.

I mean, I've already stated the kind of person that I am. The answer to those things is never for me, by and large. I'm not an impulsive person and, even in my reckless teenage years, preferred weighing things in my head. I generally knew what I was capable of doing and not.

In the area I was in growing up I was offered drugs or drink on a nigh daily basis, and still managed to never do them with minimal outside help as I wasn't religious, and my parents just gave me the typical drugs are bad speech. But I've also been told I'm a little bit of a control freak, as I hate having my perception altered.

As for why I'm doing this, my day is already well under way. Already slept and woke up and done most of my daily activities, so this is wind down time for me and a topic I'm familiar with.

In the age of the internet all of this information is readily available to most anyone, save those that don't want to look. Most of those that wouldn't also tend to prefer going in to things uneducated, so it still boils down to choice in my books.

i don't think you understand what addicition is. it's not a coping mechanism. it's chemical reliance.

what's more, just because your life sucked and went in one direction, doesn't mean that it's the same for others. some people muscle themselves out of depression. others have to slowly rise. everyone's different, and empathy will help you realize this.

Outside of being forced in to being an addict, which I understand is a thing, for a large portion they choose to stay that course. It's not like the information isn't there, they likely know what they're doing ahead of time.

I understand it all pretty damn well though, most of my extended family were/are addicts. Empathy didn't get too far with most of them. Reality and honesty has a better track record for me.

As someone who has been poor af and generally struggled through life without drinking or even taking Tylenol as far as drugs go, I just gotta tell addicts with sob stories and reasonings to man up. And I had a pretty shit life. Reliance on something else to make me feel happy just would never cut it for me, had to actually get there.

Life is hard. Just gotta deal with it. Granted I've actually helped two friends kick their habits and kinda converted them to my ways.

They do need help, but not pity. They need to face reality. It's a choice that turns in to a disease ultimately, but you always choose to get there in the end.

Blaming shit on previous generations as far as work and debt problems go seems like a cop-out though, to me.

I was poor. Eat ramen and off-brand pickles for every meal poor. I was angry at everyone and thing in the world, blaming my parents, employers, everything. Once I quit caring, everything turned around.

A little financial planning goes a long way, and you don't gotta kill yourself to do it. That's something almost everyone in my age bracket is doing, working themselves to death for minimal payout. Hell, I work half the time as my best friend and I'm doing better financially than he is due to shit like not keeping up with the best smartphones and managing my college expenses and cutting costs to where I had damn-near none(When you live that poor, you can go back to it for a while for the greater good.)

Also gotta realize life isn't worth stressing over. Life is your one shot at everything you'll ever do--even if you believe in an after life, it is after this life, so it's not this one. Fixating on the bad only hurts you and doesn't help in the least. May cut down on those college funds.

Also, if you're struggling, get down to brass tacks. Pride also doesn't really help anyone. You may want to run a startup or be a tech billionaire, but working at a garbage company for triple what you're making at Walmart in some states(and occasionally less hours too) could be the godsend you need to get on track.

instead she goes bitch mode, expects nothing bad to happen to her, but low and behold she gets her ass whipped, and now white knights are going to defend her because girls are innocent and weaker while pushing the girl power agenda.

so yes, the BF is guilty of cheating(but thats not a legal crime), but the GF went bitch mode and ruined a mans life which is a crime, which lead to another crime, GF getting her ass beaten.

so i blame her....she could have and should have walked away.

cucks wont do anything cause louis is an even more protected species than the bitch.

and you see it in this topic.

cucks white knighting for the girl.

it's plain for all to see....she could have and should have walked away. she does that, and this story has a happy ending. just because you are in a relationship where someone cheats on you doesnt give you the right to enter bitch mode and ruin another person's life.

For one, it's likely high school/college or something around there, so drama is all people know.

For two, you're talking like a rational person. If she was serious about the relationship in any capacity, her knee-jerk reaction was probably intense bitterness, disgust, feeling used, and likely above all else--intense anger. Possibly sadness. Cheating... well, most people don't just go "Oh, well, that's fine. Let me just walk away so you can be happy."

Cheating is the kind of stuff where, a few years back where I live, someone rented a fucking backhoe and legit made aliek 10 foot deep trench around his cheating girlfriends house while she was out for a weekend. Cheating-based insanity is powerful.

Medals are sensitive, but not specific. It might be that you had all those medals because your team is not stepping up. It could also be indicative of not doing your role correctly. For example, a reinhardt can easily get gold elim/kills if they charge in, get a kill, swing a few times, then die. Of course, then your team is without a tank and they all drop like flies as a result of the rein not doing their job.

Rein gets gold offensive medals and goes "what are you guys even doing?"

See?

This. Yesterday, I was playing a game with all friends(we were messing around doing stupid shit mostly). I got 14k damage as Rein, which was gold by a huge margin. Lost that game horribly.
