1. The system doesn't need to update for EVERY game, and if you have any clue what you're doing, it does that by itself while in rest mode.
2. Buying a game on disc, at least on PS4, takes about 30 seconds to install.
3. Day 1 patch download typically still takes less time than downloading the entire game off Steam
4. Patches (unless they're absolutely huge) only take a few seconds to install.
5. I've never had any sense of motion sickness due to low fov or motion blur. If you do there's something wrong with your sense of balance.

Counter-points:

I've had the Steam store crash on me several times when making purchases, and even more when just browsing.
There's NO option anymore to buy PC games physically, so you're stuck with an extensive download no matter what.
3. Steam only updates one game at a time when more than one needs it. PS4 can do 3 concurrent downloads without any significant drop of speed.
4. PC games frequently release months after the console version, and they're often inferior ports with terrible optimization.
5. Due to pretty much every PC gamer having different hardware configurations, unless you have a much more powerful PC than you need, getting fluid frame rates and a good resolution can be a bit of a crap shoot. Bought a nice AMD GPU recently? Too bad, the game will only run really smooth on an nVidia GPU. (Yes I have encountered that problem)
6. Crypto farming has still put GPU prices way higher than they need to be, or should be. Want to buy a new, high end card for your rig? Going to cost you more than a new console, maybe as much as two consoles.
7. Have an older PC from some years ago that was really good back then, but want to upgrade? You'll also need to likely buy a new UPS, possibly a new CPU, and likely a new motherboard as well that can support the bandwidth from the GPU and CPU. At that point you may as well buy a whole new rig. You'd likely need more RAM as well.
8. Drivers for everything. New wireless keyboard? Need a new driver. New mouse with more than two buttons? Need a driver. New GPU, same thing. New speakers? Ditto. ETC ETC. Let's not forget that the drivers need updated a lot, but in most cases won't actually update themselves.

If/when that happens, it's usually a result of two things. The cop in question having had inadequate training and/or having the wrong kind of mentality to be a cop in the first place, and the suspect/victim/fair next not cooperating fully with the police as they should have to avoid making more problems with yourself.

People forget, the cops aren't your friends, they're not there to listen to you, and they're not there to care about your problems. They're there to deal with whatever situation is going down and finish it, whether someone ends up with a ticket, in cuffs, or dead.

Your friends are the ones that should be keeping you from getting in trouble with the cops.
The ones who will listen to you are friends, family, and your lawyer after you get in trouble with the cops
The ones who are there to care about your problems are your friends and family.
Unless a friend or family member of yours is in fact a police officer, they are not those things. The cops are there to do a job, and for a lot of them that's all it is. The cops who do the job out of a sense of duty or a feeling of obligation to improve their community are few and far between.

They are there to gather facts about what is going on, which in most cases is extremely difficult due to a person's heightened emotions and irrational thinking, and then decide on what the best resolution to that situation is. In those scenarios sometimes yeah, they make the wrong decision, arrest the wrong person, and sometimes shoot the wrong person. I challenge anyone on this board to be able to do the job as well as any average cop. (note: the "average" cop you'll never see on anything bigger than a local newspaper or a small note on the nightly news. They don't do anything ridiculously stupid, or anything incredibly heroic either)

I could go on this rant for ages, but I think I'm going to end it here. I know how it feels to have to make a split second choice in a high stress environment, but I don't expect many others here, if any, to have been in active combat zones before.

If someone asked me why I was in or around the apartment building i live in, insisted I was trespassing, and tried to call the cops on me I wouldn't get mad, honestly I would just laugh at them. What's the worst they could do, call the cops on me yeah? It's very easy to show proof of residence, there's always some kind of paperwork you have to have signed to live somewhere legally and you're supposed to keep a copy of it. Even if you don't have that anymore, it's easy enough if you've been there for any length of time to grab a piece of mail with your name on it.

Or hell, even easier, if someone tried accosting me like that, I'd just go and check my mail, since you have to have a key for that, given by the people you're renting from.

The woman was being a racist bitch no doubt, but the dude had many easier options in how to deal with the problem instead of getting defensive and belligerent.

Pro tip: If you find yourself being in any kind of confrontation with the police, don't get defensive, that just makes them suspicious. On the flipside, don't get on the offensive either, since that won't end well for you. Just keep level and cooperate. This works for anyone.

Yeah, unfortunately I've fallen into that position at work.

I do all my tasks quickly, properly, and efficiently no matter what it is to the point that the upper management wants to bring me into lower management (fuck that though). Since I refuse to be made a manager, yet can still do things as well as and sometimes better than the actual managers, it's led to the upper level folks not being sure what to do with me, and it makes all of the lower level workers look and feel extremely incompetent at their own job.

I enjoy the movies because they're fun and campy. The action scenes are nice, but I'm not going to go to the theater just for 10 minutes of action in a 2 hour movie.

I like the jokes, the character interactions, and the plot is overall ok. I honestly like Thor and Iron Man the most, because Thor is pretty much completely out of his element in the mortal world and makes a total jackass of himself, without realizing he's making a jackass of himself, while Tony Stark is just fucking hilarious overall.

Honestly, that's about as low as I'd care to go for any kind of relationship. The thing that people seem to forget about the theory of infinite probability is that while it means these things can happen, and probably will happen eventually, is that the overall percentage chance of it happening is absolutely minuscule. When you get into chances that small, and use a metric like time to gauge their eventual happening, by the time compounded percentages reach the level that guarantees said thing happening, we run into time frames going beyond the heat death of the universe.

So, while infinite probability means those things can and will happen, that can only occur in a universe that lasts long enough for it to be possible to happen.

Now of course, we're only talking about how long it would take to guarantee something like a moon size dildo forming, it honestly could happen any second through all time, just that the probability... is extremely low.

Mind you, I still think it's a waste, and shouldn't be weighted as part of your overall grade. Back then and especially now you could just find and answer you wanted on a wiki.

Always aced my tests, and considering you take those in a closed environment without access to any external tools, those actually prove you knew what the class was teaching.

So while I thought homework was a waste of time, and still do, I still should have DONE it, just so I could have gone to college and had better opportunities.

That said, while it is something I regret from my HS days, it didn't end up all bad. I met my wife when I was going to Job Corps, which I wouldn't have gone to if I had finished HS properly
