In my personal opinion, I'm torn between 5 weeks and 8 weeks. 5 weeks is when it has a heartbeat for the first time and the placenta is developed. 8 weeks is when it has readable brain waves. For example, I cannot own an RPG, grenades, an anti-aircraft gun, missiles, nerve gas, etc even though any of those could be used for protection. So the question is, if we have the 2nd Amd., then why can't I have and use these weapons? My point is simply that we already ban huge numbers of weapons for civilian use, and so the NRA's argument involving the 2nd Amd. and personal protection is bullshit. The argument is logically exactly the same. In other words, if an NRA member can get by without grenades and missile launchers, I think they can get by without assault rifles. --- |
