Hey, question for you guys...I played the first Octopath demo last night for the first time and I love it. I read a bit on it and get the gist of the game having these 8 characters with 8 different stories...but do they ever converge and form a party or is the game just 8 different characters you play as, one after the other? I saw in that brief video in the direct that it looked like a party of four, but is it permanent or just temporary?

I'm definitely interested in the game but I don't know if I'd really like having the characters be solo all or almost all of the time. >.>

In some respects I think that is more for the people at the venue. Like, they are putting on a show because... that is literally what they are doing. They should do something that warrants a live presser as opposed to just doing a Nintendo Direct style thing.

Don't get me wrong...I'm all for people coming out and talking/introducing games, but we could do without the big fluff added on to it. I don't think I saw a single audience reaction today where someone was genuinely thrilled with one of these things. For the most part, especially when it comes to Ubi, its just full on cringeworthy.

It's like 15 hours maybe. Which is perfect for the type of game.

If you play on a easy or normal first, yeah. I had a friend over and we took turns playing through it on hard the first time and it took us probably close to 25 hours. Man, that game was tough but so so so good.

...or maybe we just died too much, lul. Either way, OP, play on hard from the start.

then play something else...break up the monotony of it all. there are definitely a lot of post apocalyptic games out there but there's really no reason to experience fatigue when you can just ignore anything that doesn't really interest you, imo. its a popular setting for a reason but it isn't for everyone.
