Joe rogan is gonna seem like a popular fuckboy answer but he honestly does have episodes for everyone. Whether youre into science, comedians, music, hunting, etc. For whatever reason Im always interested in the ones hes done talking about performance enhancing drugs in sports. Hes talked to lance Armstrong, the guy who was largely in charge of ufc drug testing, another guy who made the documentary called Icarus which is on Netflix. Hes also had on sleep experts, neurologists, astrologists, etc. I really think it would be worth digging through his catelog even if youre just interested in a couple of his podcasts here and there. I could look through his catelog and give you my faves if youre interested but otherwise, just go with your favorite comedians or typical news/special interest podcasts.

I'm so confused by this topic.

Soccer is the British term for Association Football.

Idk, look at the outside world who gets annoyed by such a term.

And people that get annoyed by it are morons. That would be like English people getting annoyed that we refer to a cars boot as the trunk and call the bonnet a hood.

Different cultures use different words to describe the same thing. Who knew?

I assume the guy youre bringing it to will check the pulleys. You should be able to spin the alternator and idler pulleys easily by hand without the belt on and they should feel smooth. Any grinding noises or what feels like rough spots when you try spinning them would be a sign of something being wrong. The water pump or any other accessories driven off the belt are a little harder to check since they wont spin as freely but its just a matter of feel and a mechanic should know how to do that, although it usually is either the alternator or an idler pulley in my (limited) experience. I also assume once he replaces the belt, hell use a volt meter to check that the alternator is charging the battery, since a failed alternator can cause more resistance and wear on the belt even if the pulley itself is fine.

As for your pic, its hard to tell but they dont look too far out of line. Its pretty common for there to be a small amount of offset so I doubt that is the issue. It would take something fairly drastic to make the crankshaft pulley to move back so Id assume its been that way since the day it came out of the factory.

And that is where you fucked up. If I was working on your car (not at a shop, but if you just brought it to me) Id just flat out refuse to look at your car.

No one wants to go through the time and effort of diagnosing a problem just to have the work done elsewhere. You bring your car to a mechanic because youre paying for their knowledge and experience.

But a bad alternator could easily lead to the belt wearing out and breaking early. If the bearings on the pulley wear out and cause more drag than normal, the belt slips which leads to it both wearing out, and causing the alternator to not charge. A missing surpentine belt is the symptom of another problem, not the cause. You would have noticed your car getting hot if it had been missing for long and it wouldnt cause your issue of shaking at a stop. However a dragging pulley, either on the alternator or one of the others, can put extra load on the engine which would cause it to bog down when the car is at idle like at a stop. If you simply replace the belt and do nothing else, the problem will come back sooner or later.

Edit: after re reading your OP, the vibrations have been happening for a couple months but the lights just came on recently, correct? Im assuming one of your pulleys has been dragging for months and the extra load has been causing the vibrations at idle when the car is in gear, which accelerated the belt wearing out and breaking just recently. No more belt means no power to the alternator and any other accessories it drives.

Given America's poor record of fighting vastly inferior forces I assume a decades long war would end with a US retreat.

Its more a matter of how difficult it is to occupy a hostile country where the people who live there dont want you there. Wed wipe out the organized military and government in no time. Its the guerilla warfare tactics by citizens turned fighters that would pose the real threat.

People tend to forget that Iraq had one of the larger armies in the world when we invaded in 03 and yet it took us only a month to reach Baghdad and more or less defeat their military and overthrow their government. They had the 4th largest army in the world during desert storm. Its the years and years of occupation that poses the real challenge.

17 mapped and 6 unmapped.

Funny enough when I was in high school, one of our teachers was scrolling through a similar website with the display on the projector. Me and one of the other guys in my class worked in the same restaurant and 2 sex offenders on that site were our coworkers at the restaurant. One was a druggie dishwasher that we actually had bought beer from before and the other was an older guy who came in and cleaned after the restaurant closed and we (kitchen and waiters) all left.

Its not all that surprising that sex offenders might have a hard time finding good jobs so they end up working at restaurants with a bunch of teenagers. Its kind of scary to think about though.

Although I have to admit, I dont think I ever bothered to think about its origin until now. If you consciously sit there and think about it, yes, its obviously a phrase born from racism. However its also used commonly enough that I think its safe to say most people using it are not necessarily racist. Theyre probably just like me and never thought about where it came from. Arrogance isnt a get out of jail free card, but I do think its important to realize that it is different than malicious intent.

It all just depends. But I usually assume parking is gonna be anywhere from $10-30 if I go to a sporting event/concert.
