Seems completely incompatible with having kids. Set hours for most salaried employees is pointless anyway. I'm comtracted to 35 hours a week. It doesn't matter when or where I do those hours.

I think it's fair than women set the boundaries for which people enjoy their bodies.

Life is decent. Finish work in 5 minutes so gonna go to the gym and then catch the train home. Weather has been glorious sunshine for about a month and I'm sunburnt from spending Sunday in a hedge maze with my kids. Was my bday on Friday and I have money from that to spend but I have no idea what to buy. Wife just got her hair coloured and I don't like it but I don't want to tell her. Sad the world cup has ended but it made me want to start playing again. Just tried to buy fifa but the store will only deliver to my billing address which isn't where I live. Going to an aquarium in London this weekend for my son's birthday then hosting a barbecue on Sunday. Real mix bag at.

Well tbh the rental stores went out of business because no one used them. They weren't much cheaper than film price dvds anyway. A new DVD is 10 pound, rentals were like 8.

England are usually a team of unlikable players who underachieve. This time they were a team of limited yet fairly likable players who overachieved. People keep talking about the easy draw but it seems obvious there is a lack of top level international teams with quality throughout right now. There is France, Brazil, Germany, Spain and Belgium and that's pretty much it. Obviously Germany and Spain got it tactically completely wrong and that left it open to the rest of the teams, including Croatia and England. That said, having Poland and Russia as top seeds didnt help the draw either.

Season 1 is exciting if not a bit campy and unrealistic. Season 2 descends into stupid in a similar vein to latter seasons of House.

Media can't be talking too much if you don't even know who's playing.

Not sit down meals as such because it isn't practical with kids but we regularly make a load of great food and invite people around. We've hosted a bbq every week since the end of April pretty much.

I've heard (maybe jokingly) that Poland is Europe's Missisippi. Very religious, conservative morals, and has the strictest anti-abortion laws and views in Europe.

There are effectively two Polands. One that wants to be like Western European and a more isolationist religious one. Think Ukraine but with less civil war.

You know what intrigues me? (This is a secondary topic).

I find it odd how white Americans (I am one of those too, BTW) can claim to be any specific ethnicity they identify with and can trace some % of DNA to (e.g. Jim O'Connor can say he is Irish because his grand grand grand father was Irish and/or 23andMe told him he is 20% Irish) while other people can't. For example, a Colombian who's 50% Spaniard as per 23andMe, or who has a Spanish grand-grandfather could not get away with saying "I am Spanish".

I and I imagine most Europeans find Americans really weird in this respect. It seems having an uncle who once went to a drop kick murphies concert is enough to make you Irish in America whereas my own mother is Irish and I don't consider myself to be likewise. It feels like Americans love to label their identity. I once met an American kid who told me he was half Jewish half catholic and half venetian.

Rightly or wrongly, if you have European blood and you go to said country claiming as such, don't expect to be treated like some long lost brother

Americans don't make sense until you realise they all actually hate each other. That's why it's a violent crime filled he'll hole where community is dead and togetherness is reviled unless it's in the form of worshiping flags songs or other superficial crap. Seriously, just post a topic in here about wanting kids or sitting down to eat dinner with your family and see the snide narcissistic replies you get. They hate anything that takes the focus away from them as an individual and are mega defensive towards anything that challenges that. Including universal healthcare.

They are usually paid salaries. Top players will likely get bonuses from playing though depending on the sport.

Most of the criticism has been aimed at the director, who is male. Their objection makes no sense.

The World Cup will be at least 48 teams by 2026. All three hosts will qualify automatically.
