Was the school in an area with a low minority population or something? I can't imagine that being public school curriculum.

I don't know the distribution, but I'd hazard a guess that it's reasonably close to the national average (for what it's worth). It was emphasized that it was a state's rights issue, not slavery in particular.

I don't find this surprising. Cops obviously prioritize themselves over anyone else. We shouldn't be expecting individuals to be extraordinarily brave in order to solve our problems.
