Troll 100% confirmed, bye bye. Nobody likes trolls. Not even ironically. Enjoy being a loser who no one likes. Not even gonna check back later to see what you say. Just know that nobody likes you and you're sad. Totally dead and gray inside and unwanted.

You keep bringing up that if Steam is ever down that all the games are lost. But it has been pointed out ad fucking nauseam out that all single player games can be played 100% offline. You're just wrong.

There is an offline mode. It always works. Forever. You said something false. You are a liar.

The root of the problem is Steam users live in ignorance.

Yeah you offered up one old anecdote which is not applicable to anything else and a bunch of cynical fearmongering about revoked licenses which literally never happens. And a whole lot of things that are just objectively false. You keep bringing up that if Steam is ever down that all the games are lost. But it has been pointed ad fucking nauseam out that all single player games can be played 100% offline. You're just wrong.

Nah they just coincidentally get shot to death at a rate immeasurably higher than performers of any other genre of music. You can't prove any statistically significant correlation.

Consoles aren't infected with Steam though.

Yeah, ... freedom to access your games from any PC ... really blows.

I hate how I can do that on any Xbox, too.

I haven't owned a console since the ps3 so I don't know if the new xbox can do that or not. If it can, all that means is it has adopted a feature Steam has had for a decade, which means at best the argument is that the Xbox is equal to Steam, not superior.

What I DO own is that specific copy to play when and where I want.

Sure, provided you bring along the specific console required for your game of choice and you have a tv with the proper input jacks to hook it up to, and the game hasn't degraded or broken like internal batteries and copper components do on some older cartridges.

Meanwhile I'll be sitting at any desktop or laptop on earth and all I need is my password and enough hard drive space and Steam will install the game and move my save files from the cloud. I've sat on many 4 hour bus rides with my laptop playing games from any number of old consoles via steam, all while offline. How horribly inconvenient.

Notice how literally everyone in this topic is on one side of the argument and you're on the other? That's usually an indication that you're wrong, or in this case, that your opinion is trash.

I have all that. Or portables for those cases when I don't have them.

Sounds an awful lot like you need internet or you get nothing. Yes, very inconvenient. I like my games to work and Steam prevents that. Or as an alternative I could set up emulators. Same thing without the malware.

What says YOU aren't all wrong? I won't underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. If I walked into a meeting of flat-earthers (Steam users) saying the planet is round (Steam sucks), I'd still be right even if I was the only one saying so.

You just acknowledged that you have separate consoles for when you can't play your preferred games. My laptop can play all my steam games wherever I am, regardless of what other technology is available and I don't have to plug it into anything.

Also you clearly didn't read what I wrote because I said I do all that offline You changed my argument to the opposite of what I said so it conformed to your argument.

In my experience with theaters lately, they show prieviews up until the showtime, then at showtime you get another 30-40 minutes of previews.

I hate this shit. I missed the last 10 minutes or so of Age of Ultron the first time I saw it. I knew going in I would have to leave as soon as the credits rolled because I had to go to work right after, but the theater showed 25 fucking minutes of trailers starting AT the showtime. Not exaggerating; i checked my phone as the movie started because it had felt like an eternity.

Now it turned out AoU was a mediocre movie but that's beside the point.

This dude is just desperate to hate Steam for no reason and he's complaining about things that are either objectively better than consoles or he's making things up

On the other hand, any dimwit company who wants an extra buck could take back a digital release and you have nothing to say about it.

Maybe YOU haven't lost a digital game yet. We've seen games get delisted. PT vanished. It's the fact they have the ability to do it. And I like the collecting aspect too. I go all the way back to Atari.

No. You purchased the game and it belongs to you. That's the law. No company in history has ever had the legal right to take a product back from the buyer. The closest thing is recalls, which are only done because the product is deemed dangerous or faulty, and even then recalls aren't really mandatory, just a way of the company getting ahead of legal repercussions by acknowledging a problem. No one can come into your house or go on your computer and take something you have purchased.

Yes, Steam can remove a game from the listing so no new people can buy it, but people who already own it can still play it and reinstall it forever. That is entirely different from a game being taken away from you. Your entire argument is pulled directly from your butthole. So you like collecting? Fine. That doesn't mean Steam sucks. It means you prefer doing things the archaic way.

Yeah, having frequent sales of 50-90% off, freedom to access your games from any PC, and the ability to sell useless trading cards for additional store credit really blows.

I was big into the genre as a teenager but I eventually sort of fell out with it as I got tired of the corny dragons and magic lyrics. But after all this time my music library is desperately in need of some adventurous riffs. Preferably with less overtly cheesy lyrics, as much as that's possible in power metal. I know the classics, but what's been happening in the last decade or so?
