I gave up after a few episodes. Simply because the brother constantly protesting everything annoyed me. And I'm rarely picky about minor details like that. He ruined it for me. I'll eventually give it more time. To echo what others have said, you're severely missing out if you're letting your first impression of Sokka drive you away from the show. The gun gameplay in 3 is certainly a bit off. 3's gunplay has always been subpar; Beth bizarrely decided to dredge up the worst aspect of Morrowind in that your gun skill determines both damage and accuracy, often in spite of your personal FPS skills. There are few things more infuriating than lining up your sniper shot, watching the bullet travel into the body of your target, and still not having it register as a hit. Which of course encourages over-reliance on VATs, which is even more broken at the opposite end of the spectrum. Gonna get the 1st series next if the ~~animation has aged well~~. Totally forgot the roaring 20s feel.. I got one only once by divine intervention (truly: I told myself that this was the last attempt I was ever going to make getting one, and it actually dropped from the very last Larva Eater I fought), and I will never try again. Incidentally, I don't dislike 9, I actually love it, even if it never took me to the emotional heights that other entries did (with the exception of the Assault of the Silver Dragons scene). Anyway, I debated whether or not to throw in that line in my original post, and even though it was fun getting in a few triggers, I shouldn't have made it because it will clearly derail the topic: this board in particular is hyper sensitive when you criticize 9. Which is kind of why I've built up a little bit of disdain for the subject; 9 is one of those technically-sound games where there's not a lot to rip into, which is why I think so many internet types have gravitated towards it: the fewer the obvious flaws, the less they have to defend their love of the game against others. FF 7 was weird, quirky, off-the-wall, took plenty of risks, and was at times very ambiguous or even confusing...at that's what made it so memorable for so many people. Anyway, as to TC's first query, it's been so long since I've played, but didn't those NPCs make sort of a drinking motion before falling down? I was fucking done with that game when a basic revive spell finally became available for purchase after way too many hours of gameplay, but oh ho ho, it costs 100 MP to cast in a game where MP starts at 0 in fights.
