This world cup is 60 games in and there's been only one game that was scoreless. That's pretty low.

And in any case, the fact that the game winner can be scored at any point in the game is pretty exciting. In a sport like basketball, you just have to watch the last few minutes.

Don't like the vibe I'm getting from this Mexico side. All they needed was a point against Sweden to not only qualify first place and get an easier Swiss team, they also would have been on the easy side of the bracket. Now they got Brazil, and a murderers row for any further run if they win.

And some of the players were asked about their fortunate advancement and a few of them said they didn't need anyone's help to get this far, which is first incorrect, and second pretty arrogant. If you're just gonna rest on your laurels, Brazil is not the team to do that against

If it gets to that point then I believe it goes to the fair play rule where they count the number of yellows awarded with the lesser advancing.

There's a head to head tie break before it gets to that. Usually we throw that out because its a draw, but Germany beat Sweden so the germans will be through to the next round.

How do you think Argentina will do against France then in the first round then?

This is a tricky one to read. Neither side has looked great despite having tremendous teams on paper. Credit to France since they did what they had to do without ever really sweating over it I guess. I think France eeks out a 2-1 win but I could see it going either way. Both teams have a higher gear that they just haven't clicked into yet so its a tough call.
