It's just easy for NMB to forget about A&W because he never leaves his house. For anyone with an actual life, it's not easy to forget A&W.

To my knowledge their advertising is minimal to non-existent and to argue that they are common everywhere just because of their total location number is misleading (and 1200 really isn't that many compared to the bigger chains that number in the tens of thousands). The distribution of their locations is uneven and depending on where you live you may never see them. While some states have a ton of them, others only have a few, and a few states don't even have any A&W Restaurants. Personally I'm peripherally aware of them, but their food sucks and I don't normally drive by any so I don't tend to think about them.

This is already possible. NASA was able to download images from New Horizons after it passed Pluto. There is just the issues of bandwidth and communication time.

No. Real time chat is impossible at those distances outside of some sort of technological advancement that may not even exist. For reference, it takes 4-24 minutes for a message to get transferred between Mars and Earth. The distance between Mars and Jupiter is tenfold that.

Once again real time communications aren't possible with long distances. When New Horizons went past Pluto it took ~9 hours to communicate with it from the Earth. When images were transmitted back to Earth the rate was ~2KB/s. You should be able to improve the transfer rate, but not the communication time. You're left with two options. You could have local servers and players would be confined to a player base of other players on Pluto. Or if that was infeasible, online gaming would be impossible.

I can't see a positive point to doing this. Four years is enough time to get the physique naturally if you're willing to put in the effort*. And if you aren't going to put in the effort you'll just regress to your previous state anyway.

*unless have something that makes you physically incapable of getting to that state (such as ALS), but once again your just going to end up regressing to your previous state.

The only arguable justification I can think of would be if your suicidal but unwilling to actually commit suicide for w/e beliefs, to use it as a shortcut to shortening your life. But even there there are more effective methods for destroying your body.

Personally I find these kind of hypotheticals pointless and stupid. You're setting up an incomplete scenario with a lot of missing information that would influence your decision. The discussion already illustrates this issue. And even ignoring the incomplete information issue, chances are that people would act differently than how they say that they would act. If you want to ask which is worse of the two options, then just ask it directly instead of setting up a hypothetical that's essentially just asking the question in an unnecessarily roundabout way.

The problem is that there is a flaw in the bootROM for Nvidia Tegra X1 systems that can be exploited (what the Switch currently uses) and you would need an update to the bootROM. However, when the Tegra chips leave the factory the fuses that are required to update the bootROM are burnt so that updates are no longer possible. This is a security measure if the bootROM is secure, but now that a flaw has been discovered it is potentially an unfixable hack.

It's fair use for emulator developers to dump bios for the development of an emulator. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Computer_Entertainment,_Inc._v._Connectix_Corp. As far as using BIOS to play games on an emulator, it is illegal to distribute/download BIOS but obtaining BIOS by dumping them from your own console is more of a legal gray area. There's no definitive ruling that I'm aware of here, and there are some rulings that would support the process and others that would not.

However, various emulators use high-level emulation to simulate BIOS subroutines, bypassing the need for the actual BIOS in the finished emulator, therefore bypassing the issue of the legality of using BIOS in an emulator.

No. Game saves are only stored on switch hardware. If your hardware breaks you lose everything. Nintendo's reason for this decision is apparently in a large part due to piracy. However there's no excuse that they don't even offer some sort of online cloud to back up your saves. Ironically it's created a stronger demand for a hacking solution like this to give players the ability to resolve this issue themselves.

You can now install Linux on Switch. You probably will be able to back up your saves. You can create your own homebrew content. It should create an easier avenue to use emulators. (apparently there was already a method for homebrew/emulators that doesn't require this, but this hack is apparently unpatchable so it's probably a better long term avenue for being able to do homebrew/emulators) Eventually it'll probably allow piracy. Whether you consider any of this is legitimate or useful is another story, but that's what this should offer anyway.

Otherwise I'll probably find a ps2 somewhere and play that.

The PS2 version has a really inconsistent frame rate, and it can be visibly distracting and possibly disruptive to the gameplay in sections. The PS3 version fixes the frame rate issue and various tweaks to the graphics, but otherwise they're essentially the same game (other than a glitch or two potentially being fixed).

The PS4 game is redone from scratch, and while it is generally faithful to the original, there were various minor tweaks to the game play. I believe the general consensus is that these tweaks are an improvement over the original game (people had a tendency to criticize various aspects of the control scheme).

Cheese is far more integrated into cuisine of various cultures, where as bacon's usage is more limited. And by itself I find bacon to be rather overrated.

And while it doesn't change my opinion, there probably should be clarification on how you define cheese and bacon. If cheese is specifically referencing to milk derived products vegan "cheese" can do an okay approximation of the flavor of certain cheeses. Due to the breadth of cheese varieties this approximation would be suboptimal, though.

And as far as bacon goes, are we specifically talking about cured and smoked pork meat, or a more general definition? Among various things called bacon, there are certain meats that are similar enough to bacon that eliminating bacon itself isn't really that big of a loss.

For SM, while moves like horizontal bomb jumps are hell to do, there are various ways to sequence break the game that don't require being a speed runner. You're overstating the difficulty of a lot of sequence breaks.

McDonald's "cheddar" and the pre-packaged squares that you're talking about are processed cheese. Cheddar that actually is natural cheese is a completely different beast. There's also quite a bit a variation in actual cheddar (outside of purists that argue it's only cheddar if it's made a specific way), and I'd argue in general the highly aged, sharper versions are the best.

I've had frozen pizza that's better than any of the normal pizza chains.
