I'm in Colorado I feel like a lot of the non software engineering majors can start of low and the ceiling isn't as high though. It always seems like the software guys getting those 100k+ stating salary and stuff. The only people who actually get the day off are HR (who pioneer the idea) because they'd rather the whole place burn down than actually alter their schedules to support the business.Luckily the outside organization I work with have the same 9/80 schedule we have, but I understand what you mean.
