Just 37 per cent of Canadians surveyed looked at the U.S. with admiration, according to new research from Environics Institute, which has been tracking Canadian public opinion since 1976.

This year marks an unprecedented low, a word pollsters rarely use, wrote Environics Institute president Michael Adams in a blog post. Its Canadians lowest overall opinion of the U.S. on record, down from peak admiration at 83 per cent in 1983.

These are lows weve never seen before, wrote Adams, before noting that if polling went back to the War of 1812, the proportions admiring the U.S. and its leaders might have been lower.

Environics interviewed 2,000 Canadians between Oct. 1 and Oct. 14. Their survey shows that while more than a third of Canadians view the U.S. favourably, that drops to just 13 per cent when it comes to how they see Trump.

Indeed, Adams wrote that President Donald Trump and his bullyish style and America-first policies factor into the results. Its not the first time since Trump was elected in November 2016 that polls have indicated global opinion of the U.S. is less than favourable.

A Pew Research Center study last month found that the global image of the U.S. had also reached a historic low, with a majority of people expressing little confidence in Trump.

While the results of the Environics survey are unsurprising, Victor Konrad, an adjunct professor at Carleton University who teaches about border relationships, says that Canadians shouldnt just shrug off the results.

Were inextricably tied to the United States, says Konrad, who is a dual citizen.

In addition to Trump, Adams wrote that other factors responsible for Canadians low opinion of America include the nightmarish mixing of guns and bigotry. Think of shootings in Charleston, Orlando, and Pittsburgh, the list goes on.

So doesn't that method rely on the force of gravity being constant? Which is not? I guess that's fine, because weight is relative to gravity (ie. 1kg on Earth is way way lighter on the Moon) but doesn't that mean that depending on where this 'scale' is used, it might vary a tiny bit?

I have two 'active' applications. One, I really think will be interesting and will look better on a CV and will actually develop skills that I think will be useful. The other, is just a boring ol' office job. Not terrible but not exciting.

The second job has sent me an offer. I can respond and I'll have an internship locked in for January.

The first job has told me they're doing a security check. I hear from them pretty often but it's the weekend so idk. They haven't said they're intending to hire me if I pass the background check (I will), but I know these checks can be expensive so like would they commit that money if they didn't intend to hire me? I've asked and they sort of dodged the question.

The problem is, if I want to take the second job, I have about 24 hours now to respond to the offer. I asked again, over e-mail, if the first job intends to hire me if I pass the security check. That was last night, no response yet.

Voltage matters. Different voltage than what your laptop normally takes can be very dangerous, potentially even a fire hazard.

Amperage doesn't matter as much, it'll charge faster/slower depending but it doesn't harm anything.

Wattage is V*I, so wattage *does* matter but it's more minute (HEH) than just "lower wattage charge slow"

Re: i7 and graphics card but with a long lasting battery: Good fucking look. You want monstrously powerful components but you don't want those monster components to use as much power as they need. That's not how it works. You can undervolt it I guess but only a tiny tiny bit before you risk BSOD'ing.
