If a real fire happens and it's actually close enough to be a threat, classes aren't just going to line up and walk out in an orderly fashion out to the open field. They're just going to get the hell out of dodge. Be real here. If some real maniac with a gun shows up, it's up to the school staff to know what to do and shut up their classrooms appropriately. That responsibility doesn't fall on the kids. Absolutely guaranteed that most kids treat drills as an extra recess of sorts, cuz that's basically what it was. |

There's handy dandy programs on the internet that'll do it for you if you don't care to get your hands dirty yourself. Not difficult to find. Ironically, W10 pushes the updates so hard and so invasively that they have consequently pushed users to download 3rd party potential-security-risk software just to get around it. Way to go, M$. |

| Philip027 09/10/18 11:04:13 PM #23 | People who avoid updates and basic computer maintenance are the anti vaxxers of the tech community. Updates are fine when it's done on my terms. Automatic updating whenever the hell the system feels like it, without any ability to opt out of ones that might mess up the things I actually use the pc for? Screw that. Problem with W10 in general is that it assumes every user is a complete fucking idiot and wrests away way too much control. It even did this on my W8 comp, when it tried to push its free W10 upgrade off as a "security update" that really just manifested as what was essentially bloatware repeatedly bugging you to upgrade. Note that back then W10 was basically in beta and even more of a pile of ass than it is now. Of course you're gonna have issues of you put off updates for so long that windows says "fuck it" and forces you to do it. And it is forced to install the 75 updates it has queued up instead of the 1 or 2 at a time if you just restarted your computer every so often. Not much help to people who just picked up a new pc with a fresh install. Their brand new computer (which should be fast, right? They never even got any chance to fuck it up with viruses and porn yet!) is basically a brick for several days, possibly without even realizing why. |

Toad and Peach did have those mini shrooms that shrunk you down; those were not usable by the player. That wasn't really the issue so much as the fact the AI had those items on unlimited use. Despite the memetic status Luigi attained with his death stare way later on, the main thing I remember MK!Luigi for was his infinite supply of Stars. I distinctly remember him (and Mario) hounding me with back to back usage of those. |

But thing is, usually when I go outside, it's only because I have to, and even then it's a fairer exchange because they all can be seen too. Seeing me is also not the goal of their going outside, like how seeing them is not my goal from going outside. In short, the dynamic is still quite different. |

I don't really care about it that much, but it also isn't really some random shmuck's business what I look like. |

(As time has gone on I've realized there's been fewer and fewer games for a console that I actually want to play, while the consoles themselves have been getting more and more expensive, making their purchases more and more questionable.) So far this game isn't even pinging my radar. |
