Well the video is flat out wrong and just the incessant whining. Motion controls will never go past the level of novelty and the current state of gaming shows that. Remember how the Kinect was universally reviled because it was mandatory with the launch Xbone? I swear if we were in the 80s, you'd be telling me how I'm holding back gaming by not embracing the power glove or all the other shitty gimmick controllers put out by Nintendo during the NES era Timohtep posted... Look who forgot that literally every company copied Nintendo when they did motion controls. Because huge corporations view following trends as avoiding taking risks and as easy money even if us on the consumer level know all too well that doesn't work. Timohtep posted... And like I said Sony has gyro built in to their standard controller. Which is irrelevant because absolutely no games use it past the first couple of exclusives put out by Sony at the start of the gen. Hell look at the gimmicky touchpad Sony put in the middle of the DS4 that only exists to kill battery life, look at all the devs who did unique and interesting things with it, oh wait none did because it's a novelty gimmick that adds another layer of BS to development time and devs don't want to bother with Timohtep posted... I watched it and the video is wrong and blatantly biased swill you only agree with because of your obsessive brand loyalty towards Nintendo Timohtep posted... . It's about how the Wii really really hurt motion controls as a concept because people like you blindly think that it's gimmicky garbage when it is LITERALLY FACTUALLY faster and more accurate than dual sticks. This is not arguable. Doesn't matter, motion controls take much longer to perform actions that can be done with the press of a button and until they can beat that, they'll never replace the traditional controller no matter how mnay times companies like Nintendo fail at reinventing the wheel time and time again. Not at all, the m/kb have been a standard PC control since pretty much the start and control sticks were a natural evolution from the pad when we went from 2D to 3D. What's leaps and bounds happened that made motion controls absolutely need to be implemented? Oh right none, just a single company obsessed with changing the game because they can't keep up with everyone else Timohtep posted... You are exactly the kind of person that's stopping progress. Motion aiming players are factually better than non motion. This is discussed heavily in the video. I saw but it's still irrelevant when those actions can take more than a few seconds as opposed to half a second with a controller. Also calling motion controls progress is a joke, they're a novelty gimmick and will never be anything more, after a while that wears off and you just want to pick up a traditional controller Timohtep posted... Feel free to literally have incorrect opinions and be stuck in the past. Irony considering all the novelty trash Nintendo has put out claiming to be the future of how we control our games only to fizzle out and be forgotten with time and the one thing that has remained is the traditional controller.
