I'm a couple games behind with Assassin's Creed and Odyssey looking as good as it does is the reason I'm finally installing Syndicate.

I love the Mass Effect-lite approach they've taken with Odyssey, it's a good idea -- I've always felt a little distant with the AC stories for some reason so hopefully the dialogue choices will make it a bit more personal.

Trial and error isn't good game design.

In this case though, it isn't trial and error because the only consequence to not finding the platform is you're still looking for the platform.

Maybe I had seen the movie before playing the game but I had no trouble finding it and naturally you should end up there anyway after exploring everything else.

Might be my favorite movie and nobody ever talks about it. I once even made a topic in an attempt to maybe get some reminiscing going but not a single reply. One of the best (and very possibly biggest?) soundtracks in a movie ever -- it's practically a musical with how much of it there is.

I liked Web of Shadows a fair bit, kinda janky when it came to framerate but the game did a lot right.

Dialogue choices, crossovers with other Marvel characters, a good/evil mechanic, two fully upgradeable movesets depending on your suit, two different endings and the webslinging was only slightly worse than 2's (which so far still hasn't been beaten though we'll see with the new PS4 game).

I'm hoping it's just a matter of overpopulating. The thing with Legends is that it's very much an ensemble cast compared to Arrow/Flash/Supergirl which each have an obvious main character. With Legends you can't just bring over Sarah and a plucky side-kick or two, you're looking at 8 or so main characters, most of them budget heavy when they get to ass-kicking that all have their own chemistry and conflicts with each other -- Legends itself is practically a crossover.

I imagine it's a lot to juggle. I hope so anyway, because Legends S3 was arguably the best the CWverse had to offer last season except maybe Black Lightning.

I think another factor to this is dev time. I'm not sure exactly how long the game has been in development but it's definitely longer than the typical AAA cycle, similar to how Rockstar do GTA -- it's ready when it's ready, not every 2-3 years for instance.

Now if every studio did this, they'd maybe have one or two major releases per gen so it might be a negative overall but it'd be interesting to get a glimpse of that reality and see what sort of content is available.

Remember pulling my friend over to the PC and showing him some screenshots of the Pokball Pokmon (Snorlax and Scizor were in this shot) and being like "Look, they're even fully 3D now!!!". Even had some in-game shot of Peach, Mario and Bowser as my wallpaper.

I definitely side with this. In an early level one of the moons is literally just on the floor like it was any other coin. You can even buy some.

Maybe the concern was people would be beating it in a couple days and modern gamers expect a lot more playtime?

Aw man. This is not looking so hot, IMO.

The in-game art-style looks a lot like a flash game and the music really isn't right. I did like the cartoon sequences though, they were pretty cool.

If they didn't want to rock the boat with Streets of Rage, they should have gone with hi-res sprite work. Otherwise they could have brought it back in a huge way (I've always imagined a Streets of Rage with a similar format to Yakuza could have been amazeballs, just with less story focus).

This, atm to me is looking half-assed, it won't do well and then they'll shelve the franchise again. I hope I'm wrong.

That summon is truly mind-blowing and brings a sense of scale that is much too rare in videogames considering it's the perfect medium for it.

I always had a particular fondness for Diablos in FF8, the way he has to pull that ball of darkness down before he can actually throw it is really cool and gives the move a lot of weight.

Shiva in FFX is badass too, that finger snap when she shatters the frozen enemies is too good.

Why they can't just make a more fleshed out 64 + a good online experience is beyond me

I honestly think the Star Fox IP is generally outside of Nintendo's typical budget for videogames to truly realize its potential. It's the type of franchise that I think could really benefit from a triple A western dev studio.

Problem is, nobody really makes space shooters and so spending that kinda money would be a huge risk because it isn't a proven genre in modern gaming. Nintendo could create a great game on a smaller budget (throw away the shitty controls and Zero would have been a solid SF title) but it's still going to come in at sub 10 hours and in today's gaming culture it just won't sell because of it.

I think where you're at right now, Troy and Abed are barely even friends and their friendship is a highlight of the show.
