MeIon Bread 12/02/18 3:19:01 PM #1 | Big green thing, yellow scales (I think). Everyone he was with, like the eight-year-old girl he lives next to, were dressed completely normally. There was no evidence of a fancy dress party, and clearly we're past Hallowe'en. Perhaps the kid lives in a house where the water supply is drugged. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. MeIon Bread 12/02/18 2:57:20 PM #3 | Sometimes it's nice to have a linear game, where you can't avoid obstacles or enemies. Plus, it's a lot simpler, and "purer". --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. I'm just a little bit caught in the middle, life is a maze and love is a riddle. |

Topic | I walked over the hills in the dark, cold and mud. :( |
MeIon Bread 12/02/18 1:59:42 PM #1 | It wasn't nearly as good as when I walked over those same hills in the daylight...on a dry, warm day. All because I wanted to see how that stupid huge house near the top of the hills looked at night. I thought the tower it has would be lit up. Just the large kitchen...and yet, no signs of life, as always. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. I'm just a little bit caught in the middle, life is a maze and love is a riddle. |
Topic | What do you think the best war films ever are? |
MeIon Bread 12/02/18 9:22:46 AM #16 | Patton was good. And another Apocalypse Now fan...good. I've actually seen both Redux and vanilla, both are very good. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. I'm just a little bit caught in the middle, life is a maze and love is a riddle. |
Topic | What do you think the best war films ever are? |
MeIon Bread 12/02/18 9:21:54 AM #14 | The Pianist is pretty good. Paths of Glory was good, but it would've been MUCH better if, at the beginning, the general had actually used the heavy guns on the soldiers. Best black comedy ever. Downfall isn't REALLY a war film, TBQH. And despite the fact the Third Reich and Hitler are fascinating, it was actually a little bit boring to watch. That rant scene gave us many happy moments on YouTube, though. I like the one where Hitler's ranting about the USS Odyssey got destroyed. Poor dude. ;_; --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. I'm just a little bit caught in the middle, life is a maze and love is a riddle. |

MeIon Bread 12/02/18 9:07:50 AM #7 | Urgh, how did I forget to put Apocalypse Now there, as well? Great film, perhaps the best. Do you think my methods are unsound? MeIon Bread 12/02/18 9:06:39 AM #4 | I've heard a lot of good things about Platoon. I forget to include FMJ on my list. Very good film, especially the final scene on the first half. Aces High Saving Private Ryan Hacksaw Ridge The Dawns Are Quiet Here You know, I still haven't seen Tora! Tora! Tora!. I tried watching it on at least one occasions, but apparently, I didn't deserve subtitles. :( I wasn't cool enough for them. MeIon Bread 12/02/18 6:07:22 AM #1 | ...in the future. Pretty minor release, kinda surprised it got a physical release at all. Some games don't. The game itself looks like a lot of fun, with side-scrolling platforming and some seemingly really good score attacking. Graphics looked kinda good, but not exactly 9th gen, and not particularly amazing 8th gen. Does anyone actually own it? It is a good game? How is the score attack in it? --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. I'm just a little bit caught in the middle, life is a maze and love is a riddle. |
Topic | Germany General. |
MeIon Bread 12/02/18 5:51:53 AM #148 | When you think about it, with regards to Nazi Germany, Hitler did actually basically achieve his goals. 1. Either win World War 2, or, if Germany lost, fight to pretty much the last man. 2. Rid Europe of most of its Jews, either through driving them away or killing them. He actually achieved the 2 main things he set out to achieve. Perhaps events didn't turn out quite how he wanted, but I expect he wasn't THAT unhappy. In his twisted little mind, he had basically "won" the situation, and probably thought the Germans would really respect him after his death. I read an interesting Wiki some time ago, about the psychopathology of Hitler, where people in more recent times have speculated about his mental health, and what might've been wrong with it. Some people have suggested he had had schizophrenia, which would explain why he had those paranoid delusions about the Jews and the socialists being responsible for most of the problems with the world. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. MeIon Bread 11/30/18 11:46:24 AM #3 | I hate these bizarre revisionist history series. No wonder most people don't know much about history. They think this stuff is real, or close to real. I'm surprised companies don't get sued more often, by individuals and other companies. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. MeIon Bread 11/30/18 10:45:29 AM #29 | Fuck no. Thinking back on every interview I've been for, and totting up my successes and failures, I've only had about a 35% success rate. So many failed interviews. Pretty much every interview was for retail, often a Christmas job. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. MeIon Bread 11/30/18 9:26:34 AM #93 | I think for my short story collection, if it gets written, I think I would be better to make it quite a lot shorter, for various reasons, such as it's not the "done" thing, writing a really long short story collection. With the format I've got in my head, it would no longer be 500 pages, but rather about 350 pages. But there's so many years of Germany to cover, and so much to say. ;_; --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. I'm just a little bit caught in the middle, life is a maze and love is a riddle. |
Topic | I've seen 93 films this year, out of my goal or 100. List. |
MeIon Bread 11/30/18 9:24:30 AM #1 | Some a lot of pretty entertaining stuff this year. Highlights were Cries and Whispers, Loving Vincent, Three Billboards, The Last Jedi, How to Talk to Girls at Parties, Splice, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Excorism of Emily Rose, and HealtH. Some great films, right there. Some overrated stuff includes First Man, and quite a few of the Bergman films. Special mentions to the weirdest films: Brewster McCloud, Daisies, Black Hollow Cage, and that Hollis Frampton film. Nothing really dreadful on the list, that I can think of it, although there's the mediocre and bad stuff, like Vincent and Theo, The Meg, They Live. What do you think of this stuff? Seem much of it? I suppose it's a mix of recognised classics and really obscure film buff stuff. Seen anything really good yourself, this year? Topic | Fighting games, by tier. |
MeIon Bread 11/30/18 6:20:14 AM #7 | To be fair, I've spent plenty of time playing fighting games in one player mode, especially Soul Calibur 1. As long as the game is good, and has a reasonable amount of content to play through by yourself, like perhaps a story mode, or at least an arcade mode where you unlock stuff, it's worth getting for just yourself. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. MeIon Bread 11/30/18 6:16:47 AM #4 | I like the way you only gave people 2 choices, TC. I'm sure there are more than 2 really bad games, this year. Like Valyria Chronicles 4. I have about 5 hours on that, and even that was punishment enough. I can't believe I paid 50 for that. I could've bought 5 new books. Or 10 new films. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account.
