That image in the OP bothers me.

Who actually plays like that? The flat display must be either amazing or the perception on it is absolute garbage. Also that left arm/wrist isn't gonna last long like that. Further looking I can just imagine swinging that arm out of discomfort and nailing the vertical console, destroying the disc inside and probably taking the tv that's overhanging the edge with it.

I also like how 9 hours is enough to qualify as heavy. Hate to see what they'd classify 20-40. Soul destroying.

To drive customers into a pace.

I once went in, grabbed a dvd, was ready to go plop down my 5 dollars plus tax. Only had 1 register open in electronics and 1 person in line. Stand there and wait since it's no big deal, look around at their stuffs in the meantime. Eventually it occurs to me I'm behind one of those people. I hold out, but the customer in front is calling 1-2 people about a card not working or something. So I eventually slink to the front and there's only 4-5 open, all jam packed with 5+ per in the middle of the day. Go back to electronics to see it's still held up. Took about 22-24 minutes from pick up to receipt.

Ford is lagging behind the competition, selling an anemic 32.8 vehicles per employee.

How does a tariff making lets say steel more expensive keep people from buying cars? This sounds like supply and demand. Not enough people want their cars. In fact, I heard months ago that Ford was getting rid of selling cars all together to sell trucks and the Mustang.

Yep, Focus, Fusion, Taurus, and 2 others. Focus will continue in europe because they actually like hatchbacks unlike america who doesn't "get" things like the Fiat 500. I mean it took a lot for people warm up to the older japanese vehicles, assuming they ever did.

Ford adapted to the light truck tax from the chicken tax, as did a few others. Unfortunately this also resulted in deaths/injuries in the case of Subaru's BRAT and its bed mounted seats you're not actually supposed to ride in... oh well.

I can only assume these are more blanketing and thus harder to skirt than just sticking 2 seats in the bed or not importing with a box so you can claim it's something else.

Ford could also not put out garbage like their powershift automatic... Pretty bad when a fiesta/focus needs the transmission redone within 6-8k miles of brand new because the clutch is total garbage.

Not surpised with the number of their vehicles being built in Turkey or whatever. They got around the light truck tax of the chicken tax like others after some adaption, but being so widespread across the world it was only a matter of time for other stuff to get hit.

As for their vehicles... they're ok, not really a fan of them outside of a few examples. To be fair they announced axing 5 of their car models from the US(or entirely) months ago so this isn't suprising in the least.

Thought it was India, but was Turkey. Though to be fair they're pretty european heavy so to claim they're murican is about as accurate as when my parents claimed their buick was a great american car after being protestant of korean vehicles. Ironically the buick was a rebadged GM Korea vehicle.

I don't trust my cat. A claw to the eyelid or the arms is enough for me to know I don't want it there in my sleep. At least my clothes give mild protection and mask the wiggly toy.

Lmao @ $50 for an oil change

That's a deal. They usually are nearly 2x the price.

The difference is made up when you need an entire new oil pan, because you won't find out until later down the road and even then it's too late anyways. Because I gotta go fast and screw it to death.

Speaking of garbage oil changes, many moons ago when I was still new to the act of driving(think I'd been driving for a year or so) my parents got an oil change at one of those quick stop service stations that litter the landscape. Paid for the oil change, assumed the deed was done. Bout a week later while I was driving "oil light is on... and now off... and on again" and ofcourse I was told it was probably a mistake or I didn't see it right. Turns out the car with 160k miles on it was driven for over a week under commute/shopping/etc load with no oil in it beyond what remained in the filter. They didn't even check their own oil yet acted at the time like if I so much as glimpsed under the hood I'd ruin the car somehow.

Engine siezed about a month later, with oil ofcourse, but the crankshaft warped and melded to the block, bending a few connecting rods as well. Transmission's reverse also somehow grenaded itself under the dealership mechanic's care... which I find suspicious.

Crazy ants, not ants as a whole, but god damn crazy ants.

Failing that maybe termites... I know they serve a purpose, but enough years of swarm season is enough to make you hate em along with their damage.

I'd rather kill the crazy ants though, because at least you can actually combat termites vs using banned chemicals to simply keep them from spreading as rapidly.

Adding to this, I already know they're in my county and somewhere in the area. I don't know how far they are, but every time there's a storm or I see ants I go into a state of "what are you, how do you look and behave" and scrutinize these lil fire ants and sugar ants like some sort of ant profiler with high anxiety. Currently have some sugar/black ants doing typical september/october scavenging in the house and I don't mind them so much.

Might not have to have replaced them, so the older cars are still around. Unlike somewhere where they get beat to death or need mass replacement.

I don't blame em though, they're large and heavy enough to get physical with most other vehicles, room for stuffs, easy to convert into a K9 unit or something.

I have no idea what a wankel rotary is, it sounds very dr. seuss, but a yaris is front wheel drive.

It's a now mostly dead form of combustion engine. Notably used in Mazda's RX line-up and some other examples previously. It's also refered to as a washing machine by some other automotive enthusiasts. It has awful mileage at around 17-20 mpg on a good day, but the power to displacement ratio is/was glorious. Unfortunately they're also high maintnence and no one is currently using it, believe the RX-8 was the end and no future in sight.

Depends on how it's driven, since I'm not all up the fluff on a lot of the latest hyper cars for reasons(honestly anything newer than 2005-2010ish I'm usually meh towards due to this damn copy paste design sedan I see everywhere). I'm gonna assume it has some form of hybridization since that's what they're doing. When pushed most can devour their tank in 30-60 minutes. Normal person driving some could be pushed up to probably 5~ hours.

Not unless it's converted,

uhhh what

Not all cars are stock configuration. Some have done wild conversions such as taking a front wheel drive honda civic hatch and making it into a rear wheel drive with a V8. Since it's a unibody and never ever came with a tunnel for the trans/driveshaft you either have to jack the rear up really high or make your own tunnel.

I highly doubt this is the case in this situation, but you never know... Could have a wankel rotory in there for all I know.

Since I don't know your car's year or configuration I just did a simple search on fuel range. 2017 yaris average range is 399 miles... that's like a 7 hour drive based on past experiences. Yours will no doubt be different, but still within reason.

Keep it near the red, drive it wide open like a bat out of hell til you crash the gate.

A Yaris is front wheel drive.

Not unless it's converted, but that be a logistical nightmare due to the lack of trans tunnel. What I do know is it's fwd and transversly mounted. The question is whether it has a weedy little inline 3 or 4. The 3 will struggle more and run at a higher rpm, meanwhile the 4 has more displacement and both will balance out with the 4 probably edging out at the high speed cruise game. Gearing will then determine how much the engine has to struggle at high speeds... I'll assume Toyota isn't dumb or using logic from pre 1995 so it's got overdrive.

As for the 4 wheeler comment, if you've ever been around a trucker or 18 wheeler you'll know all passenger cars are refered to as 4 wheelers. Yaris(or Vitz if you wanna really dig at it) has 4 wheels. Thus it's a '4 wheeler' and a lot of them do some stupid stuff around tractor trailers that think 90,000 pounds stops in less distance/time than a 2,700-4,000 pound hatch/sedan.

Should be fine unless you're running at 3500+ rpm the whole time and the fuel tank is small. If that's the case you'll have garbage mileage and run out faster. Since 3 hours doesn't give distance I'm ballparking it based on stuff. You should be fine, so long as you're gentle/smooth.

Are you driving a 4 wheeler the whole way

Yes they are, actually. According to trucker/semi perspective.

It depends entirely on the actual capacity of the tank and the mileage. Mileage varies, but so long as you don't drive like a savage and keep the rpm's at a modest cruise without lugging it should be fine. I don't know the gearing or engine for your car, but if it's screaming at 3-4k+ the whole time you're gonna be sucking it down. It's also a compact/sub compact hatch so I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume the tank capacity is small, but the engine is also probably small and the loss will be if it's an engine/gear ratio combo that causes it to scream at a higher rpm when doing 60-70.

That said, it really depends on the distance and how you drive it. You honestly should be able to, might even make the return trip unless it's a small tank. That said you'll probably wind up refilling before returning anyways.

for those of you who have played on console, how does the game work with a controller? i have a gaming PC but id rather play on xbox tbh, unless the game is really gimped on console

It's not too bad at all. There's a few quirky bits, but you adjust to em.

For general movement you just use the left analog for direct control vs clicking. If you need to stand still and go into a more cursor mode to look around or select something you can toggle it with clicking the left stick. There's the ability to hold A/X pending on console to do a radius search and brings up a menu of every container, torch, item in the radius that can be interacted with.

For the most part you can just run up to stuff and it'll be selected letting you can press A to do the default action or press X/square to open the more detailed alternatives.

Combat is pretty obviously untouched(minus using a button to switch to/from the hotbar), though I do know console get the LB/RB and L1/R1 cycle through targets. You get 5 smaller hotbars vs bigger across the screen ones.

The only loss/negative is you can't tell what effects are on someone, unless it's under examine. I forget at the moment, but possibly there. It's also easy to interact with the wrong thing such as stealing a pot vs talking to an npc if you're too reckless. Other than that I've not had any real issues.

Oh, nearly forgot... managing the inventory/party etc is a bit weird, but not bad. Say you want to change someone's weapon, you gotta hold RT/R2 and go to the appropriate petal. If you don't wanna open one of those menus then tough, you're commited once you let go of the trigger. Right trigger handles journel/inventory/etc while left trigger handles who you're controlling and their grouping/seperation. So yeah, it takes a moment to adjust, but could have been much worse.

Might as well get rid of something for cheap before something goes out on it, and if it's cheap enough and lasts long enough they probably won't come back for you. If I'm remembering right future queens disperse before it gets too cold so they can find a place to entomb themselves for a the duration. Usually look like a peanut shell made of mud or what have you.

Does remind me of about 2-3 years ago, a queen decided between 2 windows panes on the second floor was the perfect spot to build a nest. It was cute seeing her and the gradual building of the nest, but knowing what was to eventually become of it I couldn't let it hang around. Think it got up to about 3 or 4 drones and the queen.

Eventually chased em off by using a ziptie through the window's slide gap to break the nest off and deter em. They relocated.

The noise was annoying, but I won't lie it wasn't cute seeing them all look at you and track your hand/finger when you got close. Out of curiousity I even tested moving my hand fast as if to smack the nest. They got real pissy when I did that.

Got sidetracked, but what happens usually is the queen produces a bunch of future queens. They disperse and stock up before making a 'cocoon/tomb' and hibernate. The nest usually dies in some part. The future queens then wake and come out of their hiding spots to find a spot to make a new nest. I wouldn't be suprised if you're getting a bunch of future queens or simply drones stocking up to assist.
