I cannot speak much to the specifics of the rules, but I am a prospective player. The most important factor to me is simplifying and reducing ability interaction. I cannot deal with a game where both sides have a dozen or more abilities, with vague trigger conditions, RNG components, potential back and forth interactions, etc. In the first place, abilities are not really the focus of the game, right? They're supplementary to the fight topics themselves. That's what I would like to see to encourage me to participate.

Christmas is definitely better, and you won't get unlimited apples between now and then. Someone calculated out that we'll get 56 Gold Apples between the end of Nerofest and Christmas (Nerofest itself will give us 15 plus a bunch of silver/bronze).

There are a couple reasons to use a lot of your Apples now though:

1. It's hard to spend over 100 Apples on a single event. That's a lot of real time.

2. The boxes have Medals and Chains, which are annoying to farm for Servants who need them. Tons of Servants use Chains in particular (and all the Servants who use Medals use assloads of them), so it's nice to be able to get them here. Likewise the Ghost Lanterns and Gears, if you need those.

3. It's better to get tons of XP and QP now rather than later, since you probably have Servants you want to use them on. :p Plus it's nice to split the rewards over two events, so that you'll have more room left for leftover XP for future Servants, and more ability to use them on the Servants you do have.

4. The most optimal nodes are available right at the start of Nerofest, whereas they're locked until the second half of Christmas, so you have more ability to spread it out here. This is nice for sanity reasons.

Again, Christmas boxes are definitely better, so spend as many Apples as you can there. But there's definitely good reason to spend a bunch here, too.

Good advice, thanks. I don't even have 30 apples currently, so even though it would be really useful to have the XP early, I'll probably hold off like I was thinking. I need the skill gems very badly.

So it seems like people are planning to go wild with apples for the Nerofest lotto. Why that and not save for Christmas? I don't have that many apples and want to choose my battles, but the Christmas lotto seems a lot more appealing with the skill gems.

It seems like there's no half AP free quests anytime soon, right? I was trying to look for one and the first one I found is almost a year from now. If so I might as well do them for the quartz while there's downtime.

Funny, I also pulled Altria on the Ilya banner. I threw four tickets at it hoping to hit one of the 4* Casters. I don't really mind though, she's not a bad hit.

Well. Durarara is one of my favorite anime and spans quite a few seasons, so that would be a pretty easy pick for your project. Katanagatari is very good unless you can't stand Nisioisin.

So I've been playing around with the gamepress summon simulator. When I simulate summons with Quartz I seem to get way more of each of the 3 4* focuses compared to Ilya despite their rates actually being identical (due to there being 3 4*s). If I change it over to tickets it's closer to what I expect.

Is this a window into how multisummon guaranteed 4*s work? Is the simulator just broken? Is that actually known or is the simulator speculating?

The data apparently suggests that if you do a 10x Quartz roll, the game determines each result randomly, and then if you don't get any 4*s, it will try to change a 3* CE to a 4* CE. I don't know if gamepress's simulator is based on that assumption though.

I don't find Deku's character arc all that compelling still, but the cast is very good, and that makes up for it a lot. Some of my favorites are Bakugo, Shigaraki, and All Might, and they all really need Deku to have developed in the direction they did.

I'm pretty sure I instinctively hated Jojo when I first learned about it, but then I got pulled into watching the first few episodes, and now I've read all the manga and the most recent series is among my favorite anime. Jojo is good. Very high quality of OPs too. I think the second version of Great Days is my favorite overall, but there's a lot of contextual knowledge going into that one.

I'm planning on rolling on Enkidu and probably saving until then, but there are a bunch of Servants I want within the next year and I'm really going to have to pick and choose as I don't want to spend money on them.
