So someone mentioned there seems to be a tendency for female characters to overperform, at least in Round 1. And then they attributed it to the 2016 Presidential Election, which I think is REALLY stretching it. A more sensible explanation would probably just be voters gravitating towards characters who look attractive, and since much of the site's audience is male...it may also be pronounced due to the explosion of female characters in video games this decade.

Even assuaging concerns from the press over gaming culture being sexist sounds likelier than OH NO HILLARY LOST.

It's called TJF... It's also why you see characters like KOS-MOS do well while someone like Roll does terribly.

Captain Toad vs Peach is interesting in that I think that could be our first fairly certain case of rSFF if we ever got the match. Like I definitely think Peach is likely a bit stronger indirectly but I would take her to fold against most Nintendo characters, especially Mario characters, hard, Captain Toad being included in that set, because no one actually likes Peach.

We need it as a bonus poll dammit.

I don't care what Nintendo calls it. It's a dumbed down version of the normal games, targetted at a completely different audience. The fans of the normal games hate it. GameFAQs doesn't care about it. It's not going to influence this audience of 30 year olds who come here to vote.

Meh, SMB2 isn't too bad, it's the type of game that one simply needs to adapt and get used to and then you shouldn't have too much problem with it.

Edit: seems like K. Rool isn't quite done. Admittedly, 20-8 sounds a lot more impressive than 19-9.

I mean Nintendo winning most of the matches is normal but it feels like it's been taken to a new level because so many other characters have fallen off in the last five years.

If Shepard holds the lead, Nintendo characters will be 19-9 this first round. It's not as drastic as it seems (though Nintendo characters were 16-2 at one point).
