It wouldnt surprise me at all to learn that he was in fact a gay man

I thought he and the whore mary were a thing (not the virigin mary.. the other mary that slept around)

A common line of thought is that she wasn't a whore, she was his wife. It wasn't until later that Christian writers who had a vested interest in minimizing his life as a man to emphasize his life as some sort of divine magical being decided to rewrite her narrative to demonize her and minimize her importance.

The early Church spent a few hundred years fighting over whether Jesus was a man or a god in man form or a god who just looked like a man, and whether or not he was the literal son of god or a manifestation of god or some sort of complicated multifaceted avatar of god that simultaneously coexisted with the other aspects of god, to the point where people were pretty much ready to kill over different interpretations. So once one faction basically won the argument, there was a vested interested in eliminating any evidence that supported any position but your own.

It's actually one of the theories why there's currently no physical evidence that Jesus existed (that we know of) - because in the centuries that followed, especially after Rome converted, there was ample opportunity for them to find and destroy any evidence that existed. Because it might have supported the idea that Jesus was just a man who firmly considered himself a Jew, and rather than coming forward to present an entirely new religious philosophy in his own name he just claimed to be a descendant of King David who was thus rightful heir to the Jewish kingdom on Earth, who encouraged resistance to Roman rule (for which they killed him as a political rebel).

It also doesn't help that the legitimate lines of descent would have stayed in Jerusalem or the same general area, so any direct evidence of him or his siblings or his potential wife and children and the actual Jewish sect he theoretically founded (which would have been run by his brother James and Peter, NOT Paul) would have been pretty much annihilated 40 years later when Vespasian and Titus burned Jerusalem, or 50 years after that when Rome leveled Jerusalem and the Jewish diaspora started.

Christianity as it currently exists basically stems from the leadership of a man who never met Jesus at any point in his life, only knew his teaching second or third-hand, and which mostly succeeded because the only direct opposition to it was wiped out in the first hundred years or so.

Well said, but you cannot expect Jesus to toot his own horn. The fact that it was other people who wrote about him is more proof that he ascended to heaven, and it is said that once in heaven no one returns in the flesh. This is where reincarnation plays a part, I believe we are all given many chances to go back to earth, or if earth is destroyed, another planet all together.

So I was just playing xbox live, and I was having a great time talking and playing with 2 other people. Then I invited a fourth, and he said he would play with us. Then he goes silent. I sent him several invites to play with us, and he's still in the party. So I start asking if he will play with us... silence. Then I start going on about how this happened to me before, by a guy with the same gamer picture. And one of the boys leaves the party. So I go on a trash-talking tirade against him, and kick him out the party.

Last time this happened, I felt really tired right after so I went to sleep and had a dream. In the dream, 3 men came to my door, attempting to break in. I started screaming, and they ran away, and one of the three got shot by the cops while he was running (in the dream).

Satanism is on the rise, I believe there are more satanists and pagans in the Americas than some other religions. And I knew right away I was dealing with one of those people.

Does this make any sense potd?

No it isn't.

Martyrdom is distinct from the concept of saints and achieving sainthood via martyrdom.

And even then, there are branches of Christianity that technically count as Protestant that acknowledge saints anyway.

Catholics believe sainthood is achieved through suffering. Protestants, through praise. Catholics believe in sacrifice, Protestants in joy.

Then why do Protestant pastors marry and have kids?

Because pastors aren't Jesus?

Pastors are supposed to be Christ's representatives on earth.

Being someone's representative doesn't mean you have to deliberately mirror every facet of their lives.

This is the same reason why we don't nail every pastor to a cross when they turn 33.

No, cuz that would be idolatry.

Only if they made statues about said pastors. A man can be an idol and be good under the eyes of God, but once he dies, he must not be praised any longer.

I like the person, but not the season. I hate winter so much. I wish I could just hibernate it away. The cold hurts me so much. And I dont want to ever do anything when its cold. I can barely do anything. The cold is the worst. When its just chilly, I can usually bundle up. But when its cold, Im just cold, even bundled up. I love summer, though. And Spring, as well. Autumns ok. Better than winter, by far...

Have you tried moonshine?

To hibernate? I can do it easily. But then the bills dont get paid...

A couple drops of that stuff on the tongue might make you feel toasty. I was exaggerating with moonshine, but a shot of liquor warms me up when I'm cold.

and what are you doing to achieve these things?

are you saying you want to make the money by playing music? if so, are you practicing playing every day? are you studying music theory to help you become a better song writer?

are you actively looking for a good woman who can contend with you and improve both of your lives?

So I already am a copyright holder for a band named Luminous. I plan to be a singer/dancer combo. I already have all the lyrics for the first album written down. Now I need to get in touch with a graphic artist, find a recording studio, and lastly find band mates.

But any actual music training? Like, can you actually write music? Or just lyrics?

Just lyrics, I'll leave the instrumentals to the instrumentalists.
