He was interesting. I kept wondering who 'the boy' was going to be and then it was someone I didn't know. Is he strictly a hero or is he someone who plays both sides of the aisle (which is the feeling I got from him) -- seemed like he's an "I'll build anything for anyone, as long as they pay" character.

That was a pretty great series.

All the cameos were a lot of fun. Not being well versed in DC I recognized a lot of them (Mr. Terrific! Huntress! Black Lightning!) and a lot of them I did not (Captain Marvel? Captain Atom? Major Force?).

One that I did not recognize and I do not think the ever named was the person with the hammer that was with Superboy, Supergirl and the dog (I don't know the dogs name). I thought she looked really cool.

The internal monologues of Clark and Bruce showing their mutual admirations for each other, how they were similar and how they were different was a definite high point of the series. Those alone were a great primer of the personality of these heroes.

Watching Lex descend into madness is always enjoyable. I was having some issues with people accepting his "I have proof Superman is behind this but I won't show it" but then I thought about our current political climate and, well. I can see it. When was Lex elected? What year did that happen? Seems... kind of prescient.

All in all I really enjoyed this miniseries.

This issue was a lot of enjoyable. The battle through the rogues was just fun!

What is wrong with Evers?

I admittedly don't know a ton about him outside of the "not Scott Walker" factor, but that alone makes him one of my most desired flips.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to win and already early voted for him.

My husband is a teacher and Evers was the state superintendent and he implemented a system that administrators could use as an excuse to cut teacher pay. He is more pro teachers than Walker but still sided with administrators over them.

Oh, Lex infiltrated the Fortress of Solitude. The Brainiac Ship was in Washington D.C. before Superman pulled it into space. Lex is thousands of miles away.

I'm still in agreement with Karo. Feels like they had a plan for this to be an arc and then changed their mind and crammed it into a one-shot.

Finished Red Son. I'm not usually a fan of 'what-if' type stories but this one was really good. The first issue was absolutely amazing, the second was pretty great, and then I felt like things fell apart hard with the ending. I didn't like Lex writing a one line letter that caused Superman to become introspective. Then I got confused because didn't Braniac trap Lex on his ship? Which is how Lex was able to disable it? But then when the ship was about to self destruct and Superman flew it away I thought Lex/Superman were both going to die, but then Lex was suddenly somewhere else?

And then I really, really really despised the time loop ending of the story.

Still enjoyed it overall, but the ending sure hurt it a lot in my opinion.

I didn't like it.

The villains felt so weird that I couldn't take them seriously, especially when the first thing they killed was a giant ape? And they made a ship of bacteria colony? And one of them bonded with an alien? And the guy in the hat was so bizarre. I feel like they had intricate backstories for these characters but then put them in a one shot and just threw the info at us in a very confusing manner.

I like the idea of the story and know Marvel has done similar stories with Captain America.

I also was confused a lot when reading but that might be because I was reading in the middle of the night while feeding my baby. But like I thought the Elite was that group in Tokyo at first but then they started dying so I realized I was wrong. There were a few scene changes that I had no idea what was happening for a page or two.
