I've never dealt with the entire loss of a home, but my finished basement did flood two months ago with sewage from the city's sewer system. Insurance is covering it, but they have done pretty much nothing in two months. This is also the case with all my neighbors that had the same thing happen. I would think a total loss of a home would move faster, but I wouldn't count on insurance doing anything quickly.

Wow man, that fuckin sucks

Hey guys. My wife and I are buying a house this year. We are down to two houses potentially. The one we like more, is in a flood zone, and we live in central Florida. We are about 10 miles inland, and as most know Florida gets hurricanes, not as often as we used to but we get them.

My questions are the following:

If our house is ruined, how long does it typically take to rebuild the home( I know no one can give me an exact time frame, just wondering if insurance companies move their asses or not.)

Out of all the houses we've looked at, it was built the most recently, I worry it's because it was flooded out and had to be rebuilt. Also, records start in 2000 but it says it was built in 05.

In the case of a hurricane, how reliably will things like flood doors help preserve the home?

Any experience anyone here has on floods, flood insurance or money involved would be greatly appreciated!

I honestly do not get all the hype about this hd nonsense I still game and watch movies on my 50 inch crt tv and it is perfect the picture looks great and everything. Hd tvs are the biggest scam in the world.
My biggest gripe is how modern consoles only support stupid hdmi so I have to buy an hdmi to component converter to use my ps4 on my tv.
Never bought into that blu ray hype nonsense either it is a scam. Just got black panther and annihilation on DVD and am going to watch them this weekend.

Wow.
