Consoles really should have gone the way of trying to improve framerates over resolution. The jump from 1080p to 4K is marginal, but 30 FPS to 60 FPS is enormous, and 60 FPS to 120/144 FPS has a far bigger effect on gaming experience than the jump to 4K, which is largely wasted on most TVs.

As if current consoles support true 4k and not upsaled garbage.
And their targeted audience is obviously way different from PC audience.

1440p/144hz is the perfect combo these days if we factor in the cost.

This.
Cant' wait to see 240Hz 1440p monitors or even 4k. That's probably the upper bound on refresh mattering whereas more pixels, brightness, contrast, etc are MUCH better features.

Eh, idk about 240hz.
I've been gaming on 100+ for like 15 years now and I think that 120-150 is the human eye limit.
For example, 100-120 difference is noticable, but 120-144 isn't that noticable. I doubt that most people could see the difference in 180-240hz range.

Sunhawk posted...
I'd say the lowest acceptable framerate is 20 FPS, but that is still pretty weaksauce. 25 is just fine, 30 is good, and 60 is excellent.

Really detailed textures, combined with 1080P or 4K resolution, are why we don't see a lot more 60 FPS games.

Depends on the game.
For turn-based RPGs and similar genres where you don't need quick reactions, ever 30fps can get a pass.
Most single-player genres action based games are fine on 60fps.
But no way I'd accept anything below 120 for competitive FPS games.

Nobody is forcing you to get addicted to various stuff. It's you being mentally weak.

Good.

I don't drink any of that sugar garbage, especially sodas. I eat fast food maybe once per week.
I don't eat fried stuff in general. I dislike mayonnaise, ketchup and all that useless garbage. I prefer various salads. I don't eat much bread. It's mostly potatoes or even nothing except for meat and some kind of salad. Biggest con is that I dislike rice. That's like the only thing I don't like eating.

Even though I do eat fish, chicken, it's mostly red meat. Not fried, but roasted or cooked, but still.
And I eat a lot. (6'3, 220) A lot in terms of the amount of energy I use daily. But I don't eat late, after 7pm or so.

I also dislike all that 5 meals per day stuff. I either eat properly or not eat at all.
If I get up early, I have a breakfast, if not (after 10am) it's 2 meals per day. At around 1-2pm and 6-7pm.

Raised in Catholic family and 90%+ Catholic population, but over the years I just stopped caring.
Honestly, I envy religious people.
You go to service and feel better.
You confess your sins and feel better.

That just doesn't do anything for me.
For example, I can't feel better after a confession because I don't really believe in it. The only way I can feel better about my wrongodings is if I actually try to fix them.

As for my beliefs, I just don't know.
I'm fairly certain that if God exists it's nowhere near anything people believe in.
Also, I can't really say there's no God for sure.
I just try to do the right thing every day and if that's not enough for God because I didn't go to service, who cares.

Uhhh ...

Cold weather = turn on your heater and dress in layers.
Hot weather = take off as much clothing as possible, but not all of it, because wearing too much clothing will cause you to have heatstroke, but wearing too little will cause you to also die of exposure. Oh, and you need a specific device that is literally only for that situation (AC) in order to cool off, and if it is incredibly humid, that won't work either. You also have to deal with sunburn and dehydration.

Hot weather = turn on your a/c.

But I like how you pretended you can't do that

Do you have the luxury of never having to go outside?

Partially.

But a lot of it comes from conditioning.

I could drink way more back in my teenage years (European, so it's legal) than I can now.

Key to building up the tolarence is to drink as much as you can without getting drunk, like every other day.
Not eating after you're done drinking also helps. I mean it's bad to drink and not eat anything afterwards, but helps with tolerance.
