I'd actually really like to see how that one plays out. While I'm sure religious scholars could come up with a convincing argument, I'd be willing to bet the average person who says "I'm against gay / trans people because of my religion" can't come up with anything better than "someone told me it says that".

Yep, exactly. My point is that that should be the limit of the consequencies - bad publicity and boycotts.

(For the record, I would not argue the same in the case of a monopoly (or close to it) providing an essential service like power or internet. There is a big difference between that, and a baker who has millions of competitors providing a very non-essential service.)
