Nah just acquaintances. Met her at a friend's party and kinda made out but wasnt able to seal the deal then, but I did get her number, and we kinda flirted for a while through that until I finally got her to agree to come chill at my place one day when my roommates were away. She didnt tell me she was bringing her friend until she was already on the way IIRC, it was kinda like "oh btw my friend is with me is that cool" and at that point I couldnt really be rude and tell her no because I was trying to fuck and didnt want to kill my chances.

I never did traditional IRA. Just 401k and ROTH for me. With the way things are going now, I should have enough to buy one more time by year's end, and then another time for my Roth next year. I usually don't deposit into my Roth I finish all my taxes anyways. Don't want any complications

earnings rises aren't 'fake', and the reactions in markets seem to be to the fed not caring whether their actions are destructive or not, rather than the fed ever taking those actions

the drop from the dec hike was nothing compared to jerome's comments that he didnt care about volatility

Fortunately though, you never have to pay your entire medical bill and there is a pretty high degree of flexibility.

That is a possibility, but not an inevitability. At least in Texas. I had debt from a broken lease sent to collections, did nothing, nothing happened, and it disappeared as if it was never there. The only downside other than the obvious temporary ding on my score was making it harder to rent because it was in the same category. That's it.

while i dont use a manager, i do get bugged by them every so often. my usual question is "does your aggressive portfolio beat the S&P500 by more than your expense ratio"

unless her fund has some absurd exp ratio it sounds like she's beating the bond index by quite a bit more than she costs

the way PMs (at least at hedge funds) get paid is a combination of salary (usually something like 150-300k) and a percentage of their PNL

So if you're managing a book of $200 million (very typical size for a PM at a hedge fund) and you make 10% in a year, your PNL is $20 million, and you're likely on a 10-20% payout, so your bonus would be $2-3 million

I'm a super boring trader and make ~5% every year but it's extremely consistent and reliable (and the bosses love my risk taking because it's super consistent and they lever it up to the nuts)

there are hundreds of PMs at hedge funds just in London that are making $5 million or more a year, and thousands worldwide
