It is, in fact, possible to publically, visibly, and viscerally condemn something without making yourself look bad by being the first person to bring it to blows.

The primal part of me says "play stupid games, win stupid prizes." Every bit of what this guy is and stands for revolts me, and admittedly it feels good to see petty crap like this happen to hin.

But the more sensible part of me acknowledges that this is objectively a bad move. Dumping coffee on him does nothing. Fuck, it does less than nothing, because the fact is, it DOES make the the left look bad. We can scream "he deserves it" till we're hoarse, but the fact is, responses like this have spiked in frequency in the last 5 years and... it's done nothing to "teach the alt right s lesson." The reality is, responses like this ARE making things worse, ARE making shitbags like this sympathetic figures, and ARE alienating the center, at a time when the center NEEDS to be won. You CANT give people like this a shred of ammo, because every bit you give will sure as shit be used against you. And it will work, whatever delusions of "these shitbags don't matter" you chant to yourself

We can tell that the people who dont cheer at this dont matter, but... they do. Come voting day, they do. It's a numbers game, and the reality is that doing shit like this doesnt make the left look good. It doesnt generate the numbers.

There comes a point where we have to recognize that what we want and what we feel isnt what makes us win. And no amount of self righteousness will ever, EVER change that.

Not quite. Dumbledore was known for beating grindelwald, but the business of the elder wand wasn't common knowledge. Remember, Voldemort spends a HUGE part of Deathly Hallows interrogating olivander, gregorovich, and grindelwald himself to track down the elder wand's location.

I always said that Rowling and even the films did a shit job showing off Voldemort.

I dont think people really understand the bargain that a $60 game is in 2018-2019.

I kinda get s chuckle when people slam down $60 game as If that is a powerful statement.

People also seem to forget that we live in a golden age of deals. Sales are abundant, indie price models, free games do really well and dirt cheap subscriptions throw tons of really great games at you.

Yeah you gotta put up with a few loot boxes and hats. Boo boo. Could be a lot worse.

You say that like we dont live in a world where God of War, Spider Man, Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, or The Witcher 3 exist.

Massive games that give you huge worlds, tons of content, high production value, in every sense a "complete" experience, and still managed to be finished right out of the box. All for sixty dollars. And they still managed to make a lot of fucking money.

And let's not pretend $60 is the full price of games anymore. Right out the gate, on day 1, $60 is the BASE price, for the lowest tier, most stripped down version of the game. Most times you're actually paying $80-90 if you dont want to be missing content at launch.

It's a good thing they use preorders for early money, retailer-exclusive bonuses, collectors editions, digital deluxe editions, silver editions, gold editions, ultimate editions, ultimate-er editions, season passes, dlc not in the season passes, microtransactions, loot boxes, product placement, and pizza roll campaigns to offset some of those costs.

Of course they dont have the cash to finish their games. I'll happily pay to be their fucking beta testee.
